imo network effects of twitter are too strong (and generally useful/valuable obv), and they’ll prob gradually break down and deteriorate in crappy ways, but be v difficult to reconstitute elsewhere. things will just get generally worse in terms of social media usability. idk maybe that’s better in some way too.

definitely need a place where high profile people say and do things that wouldn’t be out of place in a playground tho.

yeah kinda doubt well ever see big posting sites like facebook-twitter-instagram again, insta has already turned into something more like tiktok or youtube a content consumption place

What it lacks, and what might be hard to develop, is a large contingent of normal people who signed up to follow celebrities/politicians and stuck around to be a permanent disapproving audience and pool of intermittent guest stars.

this is true. so far the main characters have mainly been the mods, or moderation adjacent drama. the user base is too sophisticated. not enough willing bean dads.
