encountered my first "you're homophobic" "no you're antiblack" dustup on blusky, just like twitter! hastily unfollowed everyone involved in this dumb drama centered around a nobody weirdo. Blusky is going to have to try harder to find more compelling main characters.

I assumed it was a fediverse thing, but it turns out you can link your own domain to your account as well and that’ll display. makes sense, kind of a self-verification technique

not sure if anyone else has encountered this, but on the desktop version (on chrome, i know, i suck), when i click "Home", it sometimes brings me home (shoutout for that) but just as often clicking Home brings me to a variety of other places, like the website i was visiting before bluesky, to my notifications page, or a profile that i had visited many clicks earlier.

hasn't happened to me. try really clearing your browser cache, there might be something stuck in localstorage.

i need to open the extensions settings in chrome and powerhose it tbh

feel like ive had similar things happen on mac-chrome, been chalking up some of the clumsiness to the fact that its built on top of a weird protocol, but havent really looked into it or thought it through as far as that making sense

also the feed is weird. it shows me every single reply from an account i follow, even if they're just replying to a random account i don't follow. but at the same time sometimes it doesn't show threaded replies by the account i do follow to themself

For replies, go to settings, then click on home feed preferences. You can turn off seeing replies altogether, or you can adjust the slider to where it shows EVERY reply or, on the other end, replies with a minimum of 25 likes.

yeah but neither of those is desirable. i want to see replies between people i follow regardless of the number of likes. twitter had this right

- the word "skeet" has a vulgar connotation and is embarrassing to use in earnest. is tweet not up for grabs now? what's the legality here

- the logo is a photo of a blue sky with white clouds. way too literal. i was pronouncing it "blueski" in my head, sometimes playfully contracting it to just "bluesk" and laughing to myself. feel like they should go more in this direction. similar to how twitter dropped the bird stuff and "twitter" "tweet" took on more intrinsic meanings

- search don't seem to work very well and recommendations isn't very streamlined. thought it would be easy to re-populate my feed with people from twitter but it's annoying hard to find them, even after i've followed a bunch it's not recommending me everyone else
