old guys releasing new music is still cool especially in light of the mass exodus of the classic rock generation these last 7 years but its def pretty sad sometimes

I was more plugged in to classic rock circles in the late 90's/early 00's and it did feel like every damn boomer artist was still regularly releasing music, even if just on very small labels. But of course there's way less of them around now.

true but also in retrospect they weren't all that old. like I think of ELP in the 90s as an example of the sadness mentioned above and then you realize that they were only in their mid-40s. which a lot of good active touring artists are right now.

idk it seemed fairly random what bands made it and what ones didn't back in the mid-60s, I often wonder what if say Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs got boosted hard and if they would've turned into the Beach Boys when they were really good or something

the bill maher parody that tim did? yeah, it was fun. he did a great job. bill maher was on ari melber's show last night on msnbc and i was hoping ari would bring it up but why would he? but ari did quote jay z. god he is such a dadrock when he does that...oof. bill maher still hates trump but is still worried about the RADICAL LEFT. cuz they so scary. how? i have no idea.

Interesting to see people reveal their alignments without having to ask but otherwise yes twitter is a place where people pretend to be thought leaders but are actually engagement hunters so their content prioritizes sensationalism over nuance. Complicated topics get boiled down to simplicities that are injected with melodrama so everything becomes quick and spicy with clear lines drawn in the sand. A few years ago I read that book The World Without Us.. if we disappeared, the author states, all dog breeds would revert to wolves/coyotes in a very short time, just a few generations. Specialty breeds need humans to keep them going

in the UK there is a tediously predictable cycle of some different breed of dog getting demonised every few years. And it really is tedious. But I still wouldn't get one of them dogs.

The movie was great. Sofia Coppola's a genius. I have no interest in anything beyond that, though.

that movie sucked. i can definitely see sofia getting all hot about it. but it was boring and sucked. a million teens-in-trouble t.v. movies are better.

it's my least favorite of her movies certainly but I thought it was fun
