(cliff floyd saw this on some mlb network clip where they were talking about his swing and Floyd was like, so when you fix your mechanics then you get more hits and you can throw more hearts to your boys in the clubhouse, which is both an amazing description and also how I feel about ilbb)

Shout out to VG for pure and unbridled enthusiasm about the things and people she loves. I dig it even if I’m not familiar with the things and people. And when I am familiar, you know what? She kinda boosts my own enthusiasm in those cases

I use "Barves" pretty often -- in my mind I differentiate btw onfield Braves (+ Anthopolous) and Barves ownership, but that distinction rarely shows up in my posts.

VG’s tv show threads have the best titles, they make me want to watch the shows!!

very much agree, but VG's thread title description for The Bear will never be topped, imho.

I don't even watch The Bear, and that thread title brightens my day a little every time I see it.

VG writes about things on the internet the way I would like to write about things on the internet. Like she has this voice that is completely her own and never sounds forced, and she always manages to hit off the complete essence of a thing and why she loves it and why we should love it in a few casual sentences while also being really funny.

I basically exclusively watch VG-TV now. The rec's just hit too hard to try anything else

It also just struck me how appropriate the name is. A spread consumed by the common-man with a taste so courageous you can't help but respect the truth of it, even from the heights of cultural ivory-towerdom
