Some bored googling of "cantilever bridge" and "amusement park" has given me the answer, you are all way off.

ailsa, Monday, 13 October 2008 13:40 (sixteen years ago)

doubt it's in the midwest, since there's appears to be a hill off to the right.

This is based on trees and scenery looking like it would be somewhere geographically similar to Northern Europe, but that one building and the grid layout of the roads looking American. Am I on the right lines?

Pic III

Tow Law City (cherry blossom), Sunday, 23 March 2025 18:00 (three months ago)

In agreement with Zelda Zonk's Turkey guess. I am finding very similar utility poles, architecture, and terrain specifically in southwest Turkey on GMSV. I found at least three roundabouts with red and gray brick colors matching Pic II in Denizli, though without the chevron pattern.

secret ride, Sunday, 23 March 2025 23:20 (three months ago)

The park bench even looks a bit Turkish, ie ironwork is decorative rather than utilitarian. On the other hand, the bus is in very crappy condition, and my experience of taking long-distance buses in Turkey is that they are generally in very good condition. Perhaps not in poorer parts of the country though

Zelda Zonk, Sunday, 23 March 2025 23:33 (three months ago)

And if not Turkey, maybe South America, perhaps Argentina

The nearest bunker is apparently on the beach about a mile and a half north-west, but there's a larger complex in Tale, a few miles south:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/rENMvX3d7ydrA4vb8

Back in 2012-2015 some students - students! - turned one of them into a b&b, although it seems to be abandoned now. Apparently there are fewer bunkers in that corner of Albania because they didn't expect an invasion through Montenegro, and there's a mountain range in the way.

Literally called "The Accursed Mountains", and they don't look like ideal tank country. I'm going to try and embed an image now. It should work. But it might not because of the control codes in the URL. If it doesn't work, imagine the background mountains in the first episode of Doom, but really jagged:

That was quite the leap from the Andes to Albania! (Turkiye a more obvious imposter)

Tow Law City (cherry blossom), Monday, 24 March 2025 18:10 (three months ago)

This sent me down the rabbit-hole of unfinished buildings in Albania, because in that very image - and also if you back the camera up - there's a framework of a buildings made of concrete. And also this huge row of concrete shells. Apparently it's a complex mixture of fallout from an economic recession in the 1990s, corruption, poor planning, and the fact that partially-completed buildings are untaxed, so there's no real incentive to finish them off. According to these people.

Presumably Albania also has masses of concrete on account of the mountains. One day the entire surface of Albania will equalise - the mountains will be levelled, the plains will be raised - and Albania will be a flat plane of beautiful concrete. A gigantic albeit boring skate park. I wonder if the Tories could win the next election by promising to send all of the council tenants to live in the unfinished houses in Albania. Tory voters would love that, and if the council houses were demolished house prices would go up slightly, which is a win-win.

English speaking, drive on the right, cold enough for trees to lose their leaves in the winter, warm enough for palm trees. Wikipedia tells me Pick Up Stix is an Asian cuisine chain based in southern California, so maybe somewhere there.
