kingfish, Thursday, 1 October 2009 04:12 (sixteen years ago)

Okay srsly and for real:

Saturday night. Drinkin'. All are welcome. I'd love to do it at my local (the B-Side) because it's v. friendly to me and has a covered/heated smoking patio, but alternative venue/date suggestions can be made.

What about earlier in the day? On Saturday night, they're doing a singalong versin of Hedwig & the Angry Inch at Cinema 21, and I'm probably heading there.

The HP Lovecraft Film Fest is also this weekend. I'd volunteer again, but I've done that for the last 4 years, so I'll take a break this time.

Sing-Along Hedwig and The Angry Inch
October 3 at 10:00 p.m.

It’s back! Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the fiercely inventive rock and roll movie musical returns to the big screen and this time you can sing-along! An emcee will get you warmed up and provide you with props to use as the movie plays. There’ll even be a costume contest with special prizes!

kingfish, Thursday, 1 October 2009 06:39 (sixteen years ago)

Will be there, no doubt.

ENERGY FOOD (en i see kay), Thursday, 1 October 2009 06:43 (sixteen years ago)

kingfish, Thursday, 1 October 2009 06:54 (sixteen years ago)

Indeed. Working that day till 7:30, tell me where to be at 8 and I'm there. Wouldn't mind if you made it earlier with me as a late arrival, either.

ENERGY FOOD (en i see kay), Thursday, 1 October 2009 08:07 (sixteen years ago)

snrub 'n' tug remix (The Reverend), Saturday, 3 October 2009 06:33 (sixteen years ago)

Haaaaaa. Welcome to Portland.

kingfish, Saturday, 3 October 2009 06:37 (sixteen years ago)

what can ya do

wit and wisdom (snrub 'n' tug remix) (The Reverend), Saturday, 3 October 2009 06:53 (sixteen years ago)

Congratulations! Check out Montavilla neighborhood (which I presume is near you). There's a nice new cocktail bar on 79th and SE Stark that has organic/sustainable snacks, fancy pre-prohibition drink recipes, and also $2 PBRs for those inclined. It's across the street from the Academy, a $3 beer theater with 5 screens.

Nate Carson, Saturday, 3 October 2009 08:55 (sixteen years ago)

Oh yeah, the bar is called Vintage.

Nate Carson, Saturday, 3 October 2009 08:55 (sixteen years ago)

wit and wisdom (snrub 'n' tug remix) (The Reverend), Saturday, 3 October 2009 08:58 (sixteen years ago)

You're around 82nd and what? I-84?

Nate Carson, Saturday, 3 October 2009 09:07 (sixteen years ago)

Portland sounds great.

shaane, Saturday, 3 October 2009 15:13 (sixteen years ago)

Okay, who's up for pre-Hedwig fap tonight? I'm thinking Blue Moon on NW 21st. I don't know any place closer which also ain't douchier.

kingfish, Saturday, 3 October 2009 16:02 (sixteen years ago)

xxp Yeah, 82nd & Thompson, a few blocks northwards.

I'd be down for the Blue Moon. Not a bad place at all.

wit and wisdom (snrub 'n' tug remix) (The Reverend), Saturday, 3 October 2009 18:09 (sixteen years ago)

Okay, let's do it then. 8pm, Blue Moon. NW 21st and Everett or whatever it is. Find the dude wot looks like an ilxor.

N-I-C-K, you still down for this?

kingfish, Saturday, 3 October 2009 18:16 (sixteen years ago)

My housemate is hanging art and playing music at a house on 37th & Alberta tonight. 7pm. They're called Wizard Rifle. Loud and fun.

Nate Carson, Saturday, 3 October 2009 20:11 (sixteen years ago)

That sounds cool. Maybe cooler than the Blue Moon.

wit and wisdom (snrub 'n' tug remix) (The Reverend), Saturday, 3 October 2009 20:35 (sixteen years ago)

Pretty sure Blue Moon is 21/Glisan btw

wit and wisdom (snrub 'n' tug remix) (The Reverend), Saturday, 3 October 2009 21:03 (sixteen years ago)

Well if you come down, I look like this: myspace.com/nanotear

Say hi!

Nate Carson, Saturday, 3 October 2009 21:03 (sixteen years ago)

Nevermind: that party/art show is aimed at kids and run by censors.

Nate Carson, Sunday, 4 October 2009 00:47 (sixteen years ago)

Okay, won't make it by 8, but I'll be heading down to Blue Moon for a bit before the movie tonight.

kingfish, Sunday, 4 October 2009 02:47 (sixteen years ago)

happy birthday, clay!
btw

tehresa, Sunday, 4 October 2009 02:53 (sixteen years ago)

Oy, so, something I ate around 6 caused spectacular stomach pain and disorientation, so I'm out of commission tonight.

ENERGY FOOD (en i see kay), Sunday, 4 October 2009 04:07 (sixteen years ago)

At Blue Moon now with friend, heading to theater in 30.

kingfish, Sunday, 4 October 2009 04:10 (sixteen years ago)

bummerz nite: went to both Alberta/37th and Blue Moon and did not encounter anyone I recognized

wit and wisdom (snrub 'n' tug remix) (The Reverend), Sunday, 4 October 2009 04:48 (sixteen years ago)

I did find a shelf and a pair of girl jeans for free and saw an awesome west african drumming/dancing troupe tho, so the day was not all a wash.

wit and wisdom (snrub 'n' tug remix) (The Reverend), Sunday, 4 October 2009 04:50 (sixteen years ago)

tehresa, Sunday, 4 October 2009 05:17 (sixteen years ago)

Theater is filled, and they're having a hairdo-judging contest.

kingfish, Sunday, 4 October 2009 05:18 (sixteen years ago)

Sorry I bailed Rev. I tried to shout a warning on here first.

I Dj heavy metal vinyl at Ground Kontrol (a retro-video game/pinball arcade that serves beer & wine) from 8-midnight Sunday 10/4.

Come down. It's free. I will totally buy you a drink or two. :)

Nate Carson, Sunday, 4 October 2009 06:42 (sixteen years ago)

And there's no cover this week, if anyone was wondering.

Nate Carson, Sunday, 4 October 2009 06:42 (sixteen years ago)

oh hey nate, i play there every second saturday!

Clay, Sunday, 4 October 2009 07:15 (sixteen years ago)

small town :)

Nate Carson, Sunday, 4 October 2009 07:34 (sixteen years ago)

I have already randomly ran into random people I met in random locations.

wit and wisdom (snrub 'n' tug remix) (The Reverend), Sunday, 4 October 2009 07:37 (sixteen years ago)

Welcome to Portland, Reverend!

I second all of Nate's recommendations (I'm in South Tabor). Also check out The Country Cat (great southern-inspired food menu next to vintage), The Observatory (great burgers), and Flying Pie (extremely filling pizza and calzones). All of these spots are around 82nd ave. and Stark. You should also check out Mt. Tabor park for some good hikes and nice views of PDX.

Darin, Sunday, 4 October 2009 07:39 (sixteen years ago)

Wotta night

kingfish, Sunday, 4 October 2009 07:53 (sixteen years ago)

I live on the north side of Mt Tabor and I love it.
