Yes because then Texas might feel compelled to break into the five or so everyone always says we have the right to, and then I'd live someplace else without having to move.

I'm entertained that Jefferson and Silicon Valley are the only two named states which shows where the support is coming from.

I'd support Missibama statehood to make room for other state crackups, as long as the senators are whittled from 4 to 2 via the octagon.

The State of Jefferson was first floated about 1940, iirc. Then WWII came along and squashed the idea but good.

Silicon Valley should be renamed Tech Overlordia, be a seperate country altogether and as citizens of other nations we should sacrifice animals on the altar and thank them for the technology they bring us everyday.

Seems like the balance would not change, as two of the new states would be solidly Dem. I wonder if even the "So Cal" state would be red, with San Diego county (57% HRC, 37% DJT) being the main population center.

The Dem legislature and the Dem governor in CA will *never* cede power to some new GOP-base upstart state.

While all the "real Virginians" were out of the Union, running the government of their Confederate state, the mountain folk wandered down from the hills, told the Fed that they were now the Union government for the commonwealth, and promptly ceded power to the upstart West counties to become a new state.
