when I first saw repeats of the first series of snl I was suprised by how funny Chevy was! I could see how his smug asshole persona worked in those skits, which wasn't the case in anything else I'd seen him in, kind of 'so that's why people liked him'

Ackroyd was probably the most talented, Gilda the most loved, Belushi the most mercurial. I don't really have a favourite, though I had a crush on Laraine Newman back then. Murray was the first guy I really took to.

Aykroyd has really grown on me the more i see reruns of the early seasons, obviously he's had a pretty good career but rarely commanded the screen in movies like he did on SNL.
