Known for their conservative courtship rules — and ever-expanding family — the “19 Kids and Counting” crew knows a thing or two about sex — and they aren’t shy when it comes to offering advice on everything from getting busy with a spouse to finding a soul mate.
The family has had a big year when it comes to relationships. Parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are expecting their fourth grandchild from newlyweds Jill and Derick Dillard, and they’re also busy planning 21-year-old daughter Jessa’s Nov. 1 nuptials to Ben Seewald.
However, they had enough time to weigh in with some sex tips.
1. You should always be available for sex.
“In your marriage there will be times you’re going to be very exhausted,” Michelle told “Today.” “Your hubby comes home after a hard day’s work, you get the baby to bed, and he is going to be looking forward to that time with you. … Anyone can fix him lunch, but only one person can meet that physical need of love that he has, and you always need to be available when he calls.”
2. A quick engagement is the way to go.
“You may not wanna push the wedding date out too far,” Jill told Page Six, “as those natural God-given desires with too much time between engagement and marriage can make it harder to remain pure.”
3. If you want to attract a ‘godly man,’ you need to be a ‘godly woman.’
“We know that a godly girl is not someone who has lived a ‘perfect’ life but is someone who has received God’s forgiveness and is seeking to put the past behind her and choosing to live every day for Him,” Jana, 24, Jessa, 21, Jill, 23, and Jinger, 20, wrote in their book “Growing Up Duggar.”
4. True love waits for sex.
“When we say true love waits, we mean that couples should not act like they’re married when they’re not or share physical intimacies that married couples share. Also, it’s important to never consider living together until you are married, as this is clearly not God’s will,” the girls wrote in their book.
5. Men can’t be awesome 100 percent of the time. Only God can.
“So many girls look to boys and marriage to give them what only God can give: satisfaction, security, happiness, fulfillment and lasting significance. Girls must realize that no man can ever give them these things 100 percent of the time,” the girls advise.
6. Be fruitful and multiply.
“Be fruitful and multiply” is Jim Bob’s No. 1 rule for a healthy marriage.
