has anyone bought glasses from them? what did you think of the process/company/product?
i wear glasses, and i don't need a new pair right now, really, but i'm thinking of starting to save up for one anyway

i'm not very stylish at all, so this should be interesting
― markers, Thursday, 25 September 2014 19:23 (ten years ago)
prob corny at this point but i've had a pair for over 2 years now and i still like the frames and they've proved very sturdy. pretty great value for $90 imo, and i can be careless with frames.

yeah, basically, i don't have a lot of money, but could get a little, and i'm just interested in dressing better than i did in 2005 at this point

my current pair isn't terrible, but it could probably be improved
I've bought a pair of glasses and a pair of sunglasses. The glasses were ok, although I should have test-driven the sample pair a bit more before buying because they're not that comfortable. The sunglasses are better, but really nothing special going on with them. They're cheap.

I'd highly recommend having them send you however many styles and really try them on.
this is the coolest thing. i current wait until i go to baltimore to visit my gfs family to get new frames because ive never found a place in dallas with a decent selection. no experience to add to the thread but thanks for bringing this to the collective attention

I had a strange first experience with them. While not advertised, there is a point where if your prescription is too strong, they can refuse to make your glasses. I complained, and they ended up allowing me to purchase a pair with a premium surcharge (50 dollars bringing total up to 140). They fit well, let me see, and look pretty sharp; no real complaints. I'm due for another pair soon, and will probably go through them. I really appreciate the low cost, considering the pair of glasses I purchased before them cost almost 1,000 USD.
My vision is real bad.

my current frames are Warby's. had 'em for a little over two years now i guess. they fall off my face a little too easily, but otherwise pretty solid.

Same here. Also, I have a gigantic head and most standard frames aren't wide enough, so I have to shop around for options that don't make me look like Philip Seymour Hoffman's character in Charlie Wilson's War.

between the facts that I like my eye doctor's office, they're good at helping me spend money, and if that fails my next door neighbor works at a place that has cool frames, I doubt I'll be ordering any for a while

i'll tell ya this much, i'm prob not going back to contacts
― markers, Thursday, 25 September 2014 21:03 (ten years ago)

mine are from paris west and everyone compliments them but they are 4 years old because i can't afford to spend as much as i spent and now i must have only expensive frames
― flatizza (harbl), Thursday, 25 September 2014 22:24 (ten years ago)
my protip for the style-challenged folks: learn your eyeglass frame sizes then start scouring ebay for nice looking designer frames in your size range.
i routinely pick up NEW frames from oliver peoples, dior, paul smith, YSL, etc. for $50-100 from legit eyeglass frame sellers with servicable return policies.
Then again most optical insurance covers frames every 1-2 years depending on your coverage, not sure if they reimburse for eBay, maybe I should look into that, ha.

i would doubt it but i have no basis for that

i always thought this was a dorky name for a glasses brand
seems like you sell glasses, you maybe wanna make them sound less dorky, not more
but what do i know, i'm not a nerd, i don't wear glasses
