Two weeks ago I was still saying 'I don't think it will actually happen'. I am starting to doubt this.

In my more apocalptic moments, I fear that bombing a country because they are suspected (known) to have biogical weapons, etc. may have some really destructive consequences. Isn't the liklihood of retaliation incredibly high? I'm worried...

I'm looking forward to it. We old-timers grew up dreading armageddon, and I've never adapted to the post-1989 feeling that the world was actually getting better. Just listen to lots of Killing Joke and Joy Division and don't go out much and you'll be fine.

I really like the duel idea mentioned on another thread. the whole that is really disgusting is that a lot of people are going to die simply for the sake of bush's political career. If the Bush the Elder was the smarter of the two, and didn't really resolve that much RE Iraq and the Middle East, how well is his son going to do? That is actually what worries me the most: that Bush will have a goal, reach it, and then stop, and that things will still be a mess for the next president. I am not saying that Bush needs to go further towards more death and destruction in the Middle East, just that if we HAVE to have a war, then lets at least hope that it actually accomplishes something besides killing a lot of people and antoginizing the whole world.
