If you don't know me by now you'll never know me
I never won a Grammy, I won't win a Tony

The excitement here before the winner announced is palpable.

No personal relationship to or consumption of American theater, so I guess Tonys by default?

Sorry it didn't capture anyone's imagination!

I had a conversation with a friend who was saying "the Oscars have nothing to do with the movies I watch," and I was saying that it was the same thing for me with the Grammys - I almost never know those bands. I guess I was curious what people thought the most irrelevant of these big 4 American awards was.

I guess there isn't much to chew on here. Sorry, Aimless, and everyone else.

I am aware of and in some cases even like some of the movies Oscar nominates, the music Grammys nominate, and the TV shows Emmys nominate. I am so jejune.

the grammys pretty consistently, category by category, utterly diverge from my musical tastes

i feel like the Oscars and to a lesser degree the Grammys represent some kind of mainstream zeitgeist that i can identify with and take an interest in, but i'm voting for the Emmys because they seem to just latch on to a show like Modern Family or Mad Men and throw every award they can at it until it goes off the air.

Titanic won a Tony in 1997, an Oscar in 1998 and a Grammy in 1999. So there's that in Emmys favor, if you will ... oh, wait.

This is the same board that loves Vanessa Williams' "Save the Best for Last"?
