I love breaking out my tights this time of year.

I do not love how I don't seem to find the tears in them until I get to work. Then they only get bigger.

i have pulled out just some of my winter/fall stuff so far and don't know where some of my tights are. maybe they were wrecked/holey and i threw them out? maybe i need to go tights shopping!

I spent all last fall & winter investing in nice stockings that don't go all the way up, and now I have to build a second wardrobe of tights to bike in. Beh.

oh you should totally just get bike shorts/tights long enough to go under skirt and cover tops of stockings!

I need new charcoal gray tights. Those were my faves last year and I wore the toesies out of them.

It's supposed to be 80 degrees today! I'm bare-legged in the latter half of October. It's just wrong.

I would have gone bare-legged today, but have already gotten addicted to my tights.

Sarah - I went int PAY HALF on Tuesday and they had grey and brown sweater tights for $4 each. I was going to buy some but I didn't feel like waiting in line.

Has anybody else purchased EG Smith tights? I bought three pairs last season for buck$ and they all got holes in the crotch within the first couple wearings. WTF!

i like tights, i have some dark purple ones that i wear over black ones, which i like.

jenny, those boots are pretty cool, the're like a weird combination of cowboy boots at the top and something else at the bottom. i like them!

I can't get into the patterned tights thing this winter. It's been black opaques every day since it started to get cold.

Today I'm wearing black opaques.

How does everyone store their tights?
I currently keep all mine in a big see-through zip-up container that a comforter came in.

I put them in the little baggies that they came in, to keep them together and unsnagged, and then the baggies get chucked into a soft-sided storage cube.

yeah, i keep mine in a bag that hangs on the inside of my closet door* there's gotta be a better way

I fold them in half, waist-band to toes, and then tie them in a knot, then keep them in an open bin-thing so the cats can sleep in them and shed all over them.

Are patterned tights fashionable? Because I'm seeing them all over the place. What I really mean is were they big in 2002 and they still are, or was I just asleep for the last 5 years? Or have I just happened to see the 8 or 9 people in the city wearing them? Or what?

What I really mean is if I buy some for Mrs T will she like them?

I fold mine in half once one way and twice the other, then pile them neatly in my underwear drawer. I have three piles: sheer, opaque and patterned.

Fishnets are a pain to fold, though, because they are about 3 inches long when not worn. (x-p)

I wish I had room in a drawer for that.

Then again, my kitties like to sleep in my drawers.

It's funny. Without the hat I think she'd look silly.

I think that blouse thingy extends into an ultra-mini skirt. It could be a touch longer and still be gorgeous. Helps that she can pull it off (the look, not the skirt). And yeah, the hat is fairly crucial.

That is a person not wearing any pants. They exist in real life, if you are an underwear model with 5' of leg, but they tend to do their pants-not-wearing INdoors. That's probably why you haven't seen them.

dudes in not knowing the difference between shirts and dresses shocker! her shoes also look like they'd be very difficult to "walk" in. but, yknow, she don't have to walk anywhere either.

yes, i frequently wear more than one pair of tights...these purple ones look a bit vivid if i wear them alone but rich over black. plus it keeps my legs warmer. i also wear black on black to get a superblack effect since i can never find tights that are quite as opaque as i want.

Went through my tights container today and realized I have fucxking ELEVEN PAIRS of solid black tights (8 opaque, 3 not). What the hell, me. At least my impulse buy is something cheap and practical.

Pretty much only wear fishnets/lacy patterned tights over black tights. Is subtle + warmm.

Fair enough! The pleated bit about 2/3 of the way down the blouse is what threw me. Only two or three more inches of fabric and it would be a genuine miniskirt-shirt thingy, mind.

i have a friend who's maybe 5' tall who wears patterned tights all the time and it doesn't make her legs look short. it might be because she wears intimidatingly high heels though.

i have pretty shapeless legs, though. in combination with the pre-existing shortness, my legs just look terrible in patterned tights. and i have fat knees.

I am sorely missing the days when I wore stripey tights. I might revisit that phase soon, before I get too old. I do Colette's two pairs of tights thing too, for warmth and effect. My tights all live crumpled up in a drawer because life is too short for folding things. I tend to buy them mega-cheap in Primark, but have some fancy Markies ones for special occasions (fishnets also better quality plain ones)

Striped tights are neat but the one time I wore them I felt like I should be at a Neil Gaiman fan conference. May have to wear them if I do indeed dress as the Hamburgler this Halloween!

I'm making it my weekend project to organize my tights and come up with a better storage method. I have enough tights that this is really a PROJECT.

Wearing two pairs of tights would be my worst nightmare. I find tights so constricting that I almost don't want to even wear one pair. Also, I can't believe that people have special storage systems for tights besides sock drawer.

Has anyone tried Spanx double sided tights?

I don't have any drawers, Mary! Socks go in one storage cube, stockings in another, bras in a third, pants in a fourth. All go on shelves.
