Don't do it! You will always get caught out, and it will create more problems than it will cause fun...

That said, I've got about 3 or 4 yahoo accounts for this exact purpose. Go on, my son. ;-)

I cannot resist. The guys who run this list are repellent assholes. i have moved among them under my assumed identity, but the mail provider i'm using for this is a bit rubbish. the list is a yahoo group (it's not yours, so ph34r not. Your list is great) so i'm a bit wary of a yahoo address for this.

Hotmail's worked fine for me, though no idea about MSN.

I love Hushmail, though I mainly selected it because of its portability. It's especially hard for me to check out my ISP's e-mail because I would have to be home to check that out and I'm home a lot less than I'd like to be.

But yeah, Hushmail. Can check it out anywhere, am always secure, and I just like how it's set up.

aol's not free as far as mail goes -- why is it in the thread header?

anyway, my philosophy on e-mail is 'you get what you pay for,' and none of the free e-mailhemoths allow you to use pine. web interfaces for e-mail reading are a colossal dud, as far as i'm concerned. (actually i don't like web interfaces for many interactive applications -- the greenspun code that ilx is based on is one of the very few elegant solutions to the web-board idea.)

I like my one a lot. (it's a fastmail.fm address)

aol's not free as far as mail goes -- why is it in the thread header?

No idea, it wasn't my thread originally. I just thought I'd hijack it to have a rant about hotmail apparently being down today - or is it? - rather than starting a new thread for my own selfish reasons...

Hotmail is terrible at keeping spam out -- my old primary hotmail account is essentially unusable now b/c of that. Yahoo's way better in this regard.
