This thread from 2002 asked the original question being polled here. Being as this was pre-poll ILX, the question was never definitively laid to rest. Thanks to the magic of polls (almost) all the sweets mentioned in that thread, including many decidedly British candies which remain unheralded elsewhere, may now be evaluated and the old-peopliest identified for good and all.
Further suggestions of old peopley candies are welcomed, however bizarre or obscure, for this is often the essence of old people candy.
