...using music people and fings as rhyming slang for anything else in general

examples:

Kurt Cobain = Brain = "that kids's got a good kurt on 'im"

Roots Manuva = Hoover = "gotta give this floor a good ol' roots manuva"

Axl n' Slash = Cash = "alright mate, lend me some Axl?"

Aphex Twin = Shin = "'old up, got terrible pain in me aphex"

Holly Valance = pants = "lets go, this is utter Holly"

Kylie Minogue = Rogue = "you'd better watch 'im, he's a bit of a Kylie"

Donna Summer = Bummer = "sorry to hear that mate, bit of a Donna eh?"

Julian Casablancas = Wankers = "fuck that lot, all total Julians"

could catch on...but please do better!

There are existing ones - Gary Glitter, obviously, and Lou Reed. (Such a pity though that Mo Tucker isn't used as rhyming slang....) That said, I do hope the above additions make it into common parlance. And you really can't say Christina Aguilera than that.

You can use my Joey and Dee-Dee, though.

(Yes, I am a Minnesotan butting in on a Cockney slang thread. I wholly understand the concept and have since William Regal used the term "nice Bristols" on a WWF TV program.)
