I like #2 better

marcos, Tuesday, 7 July 2015 03:57 (nine years ago)

the first one struck me as having more visual elements that I liked. the expression in the second is a bit blanker and more harrowed, which seems to fit what you were aiming at more closely, but the remaining elements seemed weaker.

Mark G, Tuesday, 7 July 2015 10:21 (nine years ago)

is that Mark G with Mark Labbett?

West Hartlepool's "wildest" beat group (soref), Tuesday, 7 July 2015 10:27 (nine years ago)

That would be accurate.

Mark G, Tuesday, 7 July 2015 10:27 (nine years ago)

strong start this month

johnny crunch, Tuesday, 7 July 2015 11:13 (nine years ago)

Hey I went to school with Mark Labbett. I haven't thought about him for 30 years but it's good to see him pop up in 2015 on ilx. I had no idea he was now famous but I actually think I was in an inter-school quiz competition with him, which would make sense given his career trajectory since I knew him.

He moved in earlier in the year a couple of miles from my house, see him in the pub about once a fortnight.

arbiter of sorrow (aldo), Tuesday, 7 July 2015 12:45 (nine years ago)

maybe get him on your pub quiz team?

anthony braxton diamond geezer (anagram), Tuesday, 7 July 2015 12:51 (nine years ago)

I think the other team might spot him.

(He's a big bloke: I'm 6ft 1 but.)

Mark G, Tuesday, 7 July 2015 13:25 (nine years ago)

Aye, he is huge.

1) We're so competitive we have sworn off quizzes
2) There isn't a quiz

xp karl malone exemplifying the ugliest tendencies of millennials, can't even put his phone away when experiencing nature at its most vast and beautiful

Merdeyeux, Saturday, 11 July 2015 00:16 (nine years ago)

hey, there's a lot that we can learn from millennials. they're civic-minded, with a strong sense of community both local and global, with the traits of confidence and tolerance, but also a sense of entitlement and narcissism, somewhat more upbeat than older adults about America’s future, with similar career aspirations to other generations, valuing financial security and a diverse workplace just as much as their older colleagues.personally i would also describe them as optimistic, engaged, and team players, and i think they harbor a deep desire to make the world a better place combined with an understanding that doing so requires building new institutions while working inside and outside existing institutions. if i had to say just two more things, it would be that they are more likely to support same-sex marriage and the legalization of marijuana. millennials want to get married, they just want to do it right the first time, the same thing with their careers. not to toot my own horn too much but i did a survey back in 2007 that found that 97% of these students owned a computer, 94% owned a cell phone, and 56% owned an MP3 player. finally, let me blow your mind by reminding you that millennials came of age in a time where the entertainment industry began to be affected by the Internet.

that reminds me, one of the coolest parts of being up there was trying to attract the attention of our friends down at the campsite by the lake (in the woods to the left of the lake). we yelled 'woooo!' for a really long time and finally got a return 'wooo!' that felt so good to hear. they came out to try to see us and they looked like tiny ants. the best
