What is everyone having for lunch today then? I'm having mashed potato (left overs) with soft cheese mixed in and baked beans. So kinda like a jacket potato but without the effort!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 17 October 2002 10:59 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, I know I'm strange!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 17 October 2002 10:59 (twenty-two years ago)

H (Heruy), Thursday, 17 October 2002 11:04 (twenty-two years ago)

angelo (angelo), Thursday, 17 October 2002 11:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Thai fish parcel (basically curried fish en croute). Very tasty but stinking office out.

robster (robster), Thursday, 17 October 2002 11:18 (twenty-two years ago)

A kebab. I'm not even pissed. Does this mean I'm losing it? Answers on a postcard (in big red crayon) to the usual address.....

lol p xx, Thursday, 17 October 2002 11:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I forgot to bring lunch today, and I'll be damned if I pay through the nose for a horrid little meal from the Sodhexo cafeteria at work.

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 17 October 2002 11:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I made an egg mayonnaise sandwich to bring to work today, but I didn't boil the egg for long enough so it's dead sloppy.

Madchen, Thursday, 17 October 2002 11:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I had my new absolute favourite thing: a 'Nutty Nanny' bagel which is goat's cheese, caramelised onions, pine nuts and salad. Now I will have some Mini Cheddars to go with it. (This = classy.)

Archel (Archel), Thursday, 17 October 2002 11:38 (twenty-two years ago)

a jumbo sausage roll from sayers. don't be jealous.

michael wells (michael w.), Thursday, 17 October 2002 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 17 October 2002 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Cheer up, a training course = change of scenery!

I had a toasted pannini w/ Mozzeralla, Chicken and Sweetcorn Relish. Very sleepy now. Very.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 October 2002 12:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't know yet, I'm starving though.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 17 October 2002 12:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 17 October 2002 12:29 (twenty-two years ago)

So who will be partaking in afternoon tea?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 17 October 2002 12:39 (twenty-two years ago)

There will be a pizza fundraiser here today at lunchtime; I'm looking forward to that.

j.lu (j.lu), Thursday, 17 October 2002 12:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Roast pork on a roll w/ sweet mustard and a bottle of cold green tea. Oh, yes.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Thursday, 17 October 2002 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

aw, i have exactly the same thing every day. it's nice. am i crazy for doing this? i always feel lame buying it, but i guess i'm fussy or something because i don't ever feel like trying other stuff. anyway, i get a baguette from safeway with chikcen, cucumber and lettuce, two bags of cheese & onion walkers crisps and a diet coke. or irn bru if 'm feeling adventurous (like today). i get real mad if they run out of my baguettes, too, and a couple of times i've gone without lunch because of it.

g-kit (g-kit), Thursday, 17 October 2002 12:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I only just had lunch. A couple of rounds of toast with marmite on some blue cheese on others. Did the job perfectly well.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 17 October 2002 13:07 (twenty-two years ago)

There was this place in North Sydney opposite the office on Church/West street that did a great ??? bread (with sesame seeds) and corned beef and "Tasty Cheese" sandwich that I had every working day for seven weeks. Still makes the mouth water.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 October 2002 13:27 (twenty-two years ago)

ill have lunch in an hour, and itll be 59 cent hamburgers and peirogies. because i like coronary heart disease.

amy (amy), Thursday, 17 October 2002 13:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Not sure yet -- something quick, though, since I'll be doing a brief class presentation at 12:30.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 October 2002 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Heehee I know someone who has a nickname due to their lunch. Actually I know several! Our office has two "Two Puds" known due to their propensity for seconds of a nummy custard based lunchtime treat. Co-worker N___ also insists that I have a "sprouts voice" due to a change in my vocal PITCH whenever I hear there are sproutz0r on the menu. Num num. Our canteen is k-rar. This is good because there is NOWHERE ELSE TO GO.

My fave sammiche from Pret is the chicken/avocado one. Cold tea = horrid!

I am going to get some crisps now.

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 17 October 2002 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

A bag of prawn cocktail Skips clones (goodbye diet, you were doomed from the moment someone told me on Monday that they'd won a huge box of Mars bars and I should help myself so they didn't eat them all). Someone remind me that just because they were two for the price of one doesn't mean I should eat the other pack now as well. I mean, I'm not even hungry, it's just to distract me from wanting to kill coworkers.

Rebecca (reb), Thursday, 17 October 2002 14:24 (twenty-two years ago)

tom you have now put the idea of a marmite and blue cheese toasted sandwich into my head. i will try this at home tonight and report back tomorrow.

angela (angela), Thursday, 17 October 2002 14:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Angela did not survive the night. Her body still turned up for work the next day, fueled by the unholy mixture than now flowed in her veins. However, it did turn up for work, and so killed itself by the end of the day.

Current soulless office conditions == the common cold from War Of The Worlds... of the noughties!

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 17 October 2002 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

i just ate breakfast!

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 17 October 2002 14:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Now I can report on lunch... A Loaf Bowl of Vegetarian chilli, Rootbeer to drink.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 17 October 2002 18:12 (twenty-two years ago)

nothing. i didn't find time to eat the squashed sandwiches in my bag. i had an apple at 12, but i don't think that counts. dinner was chicken in this honey sauce, that was good.

Mitch Lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Thursday, 17 October 2002 18:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 17 October 2002 18:57 (twenty-two years ago)

A burrito and things. Yay things!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 October 2002 19:11 (twenty-two years ago)

a jacket potato = a big potato baked, cut in half or split and filled with cheese which melts (or whatver fancy stuff you wanna put in it)

ice bun = thin bun with icing on top. Sometimes there are are currents and raisans (sp? I'm too distraught over the accident that Dawson's dad had, is he a gonner? I shoulda gone to the fap...) in the bun.

fish parcel, dunno, probably some kinda pastry with fish in it.

    jel -- (jel), Thursday, 17 October 2002 20:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I had Hot & Sour soup, egg roll, fried rice and Chili Chicken from one of the many little Chinese places doting Dundas.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 17 October 2002 20:04 (twenty-two years ago)

chaki (chaki), Friday, 18 October 2002 19:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yeah Chaki, just got back from Baja Fresh where I had the ultimo which rocked my world. the thing is I like to douse everything in their salsas which are excellent (but not as good as Cancun up in Berkeley) and pretty conisistent from location to location. And the warm crispy tortilla chips are mmmmmm.

And yes Ned, Wahoo's is excellent, though not near my work. Although I think I can get up to the one on Wilshire next week. Have you been to Senor Fish? they have a scallop burrito which is one of the best things I've ever eaten.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 18 October 2002 20:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Senor Fish...hm, not heard of it. Sounds like a Worthy Burrito. Perhaps tonight for dinner I'll have something from Mitae Ramen. Aaaaah.
