is it going to be a Sharks/Jets rumble between audiophiles and evil CD/compressed mp3 listeners?

Wish this was a 'Social Network'-style docudrama about VNYL.

Looks like super fun garbage TV to me but popular music is so hard to get right in fiction, it almost always ends up corny as hell. Spinal Tap is the only one I can think of that felt like it really understood its subject. Maybe Altman's Nashville too. But even pretty decent attempts Inside Llewyn Davis or Not Fade Away fell down the more tightly they focussed on the music.
That said, I kind of have a soft spot for the TV soap Nashville and I've heard that Empire TV series is fun too - so maybe trashy soap operas are the way to go.

this looks awful.

Best case, looks like the Scorcese Goodfellas/Wolf approach of "let's collect all of these you-gotta-here-this-one insider anecdotes from this particular subculture and era and turn them into a movie."

yeah, i think i'm just hoping it's fun? i like the 70s/NYC/rocknroll...kind of can't look at the main actor after his skincrawling turn on boardwalk empire... was extremely weird to have him pop up in the recent annie remake .

I'll have to see if I can find the overalls and plaid shirts I wore in high school. I was very funky.

I watched a scene from this last night and there were a LOT of glam dudes running on top of cars. And like in full stride, too. Very parkour/fast zombie style.

there's another thread for this
― Οὖτις, Thursday, 18 February 2016 18:45 (nine years ago)
this is a better thread cuz it actually has the show title, we were talking about it here:
Come anticipate or vaguely boggle at the untitled rock and roll HBO series from Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger & Terence Winter!
― the 'major tom guy' (sleeve), Thursday, 18 February 2016 18:45 (nine years ago)
yeah that other thread title is annoying. also it's on ILM for some reason
― Οὖτις, Thursday, 18 February 2016 18:47 (nine years ago)
ugh, i'm such a noob, posting in the thread with the show's title in it like a straight up herb
apologies
