i just trimmed my bangs

"deep cherry brown" -- i had let it grow out to my natural boring brown color in my early 30s to prove that i wasn't going gray. and now I'm 40, and I'm still not going gray, but life is too short to have a boring hair color just to prove, what, superior genetics?

i have to be honest with you, that some people are jealous of my hair. and i'm like, kind of happy about that. i hope that doesn't sound too dickish.

Male dyer here, so shoot me. I have hair that is patchily grey - 70% dark on top, 70% grey on the sides - and yes, some people call it distinguished, blah blah (what Surm said) but I don't like what I see in the mirror so I darken it to make it more even and it makes such a diff and makes me feel happier. At some point when it's all gloriously even silver (in my dreams) I'll stop and have lovely silver hair and I'll grow a beard to match.

And people snidely mention it or refer to it backhandedly at times when there's no need. I'll talk very openly about it if they wanted to.

This all sounds very passive/aggressive but I feel too young to look old and I think I do the upkeep fairly well.

Anyway, I'm happy to hear about ze bangs.

Can you imagine anyone disparaging a woman by saying omg she dyes her hair?! Every woman I know dyes theirs!

Except my sister who is blessed with hair that has gone platinum white naturally.

recently my hairdresser revealed to me that Friday nights can sometimes be very tough for her. you know, watching everyone go out and she can't really, bc Sat starts so early. i felt for her.
