ILX is the only place I've used bookmarks since del.icio.us shit the bed. I guess I do use them in actual books occasionally.

I just read and/or removed all of my outstanding unread bookmarked threads. They had been growing and growing like a neglected gmail account and it got to the point where I was only dipping in and out of the bookmarks and not seeing any new threads.

I finally figured out bookmarks about a month ago. I’m not sure I really know how to use them properly though.

i don't have a single thing bookmarked on ilx. It seems like a lot of commitment. I have 8 things bookmarked on my browser. (beverage thing, streaming, beverage thing, beverage thing, reddit thread, mit opencourse, tax thing, jumpsuits.)

you commit to bookmark zero and never waver. you may not go to bed if there is an unread bookmark. your paid work is just the work you do during the times when your bookmarks are at zero.

I have no problem with that aspect. My issue seems to be curating the threads I bookmark. I keep bookmarking clusterfucks.

if there's an unread bookmark I wonder if someone posted an NSFW picture without warning.
