It's been gray and raining for a week now in NYC. How do people put up with this shit on a near-daily basis in other parts of the world?

geeta (geeta), Friday, 18 October 2002 05:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd just like to say that by distracting attention from the vital political issues at play on the Vice Magazine thread, you have again conjured the spectre of fascism on our fair site, Geeta.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Friday, 18 October 2002 06:18 (twenty-two years ago)

On the subject of not talking about Vice, I'd just not like to not say that I will not be buying the UK edition of Vice when it's not published.

angela (angela), Friday, 18 October 2002 08:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I have an mp3 of a shipping forecast!

Hurrah! My nickname for Alex has stayed!

nathalie (nathalie), Friday, 18 October 2002 09:27 (twenty-two years ago)

what size is the mp3 tom? if it's not so enormous that it will kill my email i might ask you to send it to me, zipped perhaps?

angela (angela), Friday, 18 October 2002 09:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I like the rain.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 18 October 2002 09:58 (twenty-two years ago)

i think it's raining here too but i can't tell, it's all dark & shit

unknown or illegal user (doorag), Friday, 18 October 2002 10:00 (twenty-two years ago)

How do people put up with this shit on a near-daily basis in other parts of the world?

There's a reason I'm here and not there.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 18 October 2002 13:54 (twenty-two years ago)

it's raining and cold here and i couldn't be happier about it.

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 18 October 2002 13:57 (twenty-two years ago)

hey, anyone seen the burkino faso version of vice? it is, like, a total rip off of the Central African Republic version, right down to the Dennis Bergkamp feature. unbelievable!

gareth (gareth), Friday, 18 October 2002 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)

gareth what part of "let's not talk about vice magazine" didn't you understand?

(anyway, they're all rip offs of the fiji vice.)

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 18 October 2002 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

the bit about 'vice', the rest of it was ok, but i got stuck there. incidentally, have you seen the former yugoslav republic of macedonias version of vice, interesting article by stern john on how macedonia is a hyperreal country not recognised by any of its neighbours. even now macedonia is only just beginning to get recognition in williamsburg thanks to larry tee and clyde wyjnhard, who put some sterling work in against swindon, although must have been slighlty upset about dropping through the pyramid system and ending up a nieghbour of bloody martin carr for fucks sake, you know what i mean?

gareth (gareth), Friday, 18 October 2002 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

it's gone sudden cold and rainy here and it's totally screwing with my head... argh, no matter how much i try to psyche myself up for the shorter days and crabby weather, it always breaks through. i think when i move back to the states, i'm going to go somewhere brutally warm where i can wear cut-offs all day every day.

dave k, Friday, 18 October 2002 14:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I wish it would 'go rainy' here.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 18 October 2002 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

It's chilly and raining here. I'm perfectly fine with it.

Andy K (Andy K), Friday, 18 October 2002 17:06 (twenty-two years ago)

It's a really hot night here and I wish it was cool cos I just received Andy K's "love in a colder climate" mix and I want appropriate listening environs. (PS THANK YOU ANDY K MUCH!!)

Mitch Lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Friday, 18 October 2002 17:17 (twenty-two years ago)

(yeah, ditto mitch's last statement.)

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 18 October 2002 17:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Andy K, scholar and gent. And having talked to him on the phone on the way back from Boston, he sounds agreeably low key. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 18 October 2002 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmmm. I'm making no judgement but the M@tt@ll dude from Van who's extensively quoted is basically a walking, talking issue of Vice at it's most Vicey.
