(Looks like there's a thread for him on 77, but for those of us not on there...)

Currently live-streaming himself watching a marathon of his movies. Now that it's been running 24 hours, it's starting to get interesting to watch a guy try to stay awake.

"Our kids will really appreciate his artistic endeavors just like our generation really appreciates what Andy Kaufman did. He is an artist who is making art for all the right reasons(for the process of making that art), and artists who truly do that are generally unappreciated in their own times.
Maybe it can be chalked up to the difficulty of seeing the forest through the trees." - Reddit on Shia Lebouf currently streaming himself watching his own movies.

i think my admiration of his carpe-that-fucking-diem outweighs any negative feelings i have about him tbh

yes wave (rip van wanko), Wednesday, 11 November 2015 18:46 (ten years ago)

Would anyone remember this man exists if his name were not Shia Labeouf? When he dies he should be buried next to Zazu Pitts.

Aimless, Wednesday, 11 November 2015 20:07 (ten years ago)

is there a way to find out which of his films he is watching at any particular moment? he was laughing at something a few minutes ago, now he seems kind of serious

soref, Wednesday, 11 November 2015 20:22 (ten years ago)

wait, he just got up I think? he's not in the frame any more

soref, Wednesday, 11 November 2015 20:23 (ten years ago)

there's an itinerary photo in this article

http://www.wired.com/2015/11/you-can-watch-shia-labeouf-watch-all-his-movies-right-now/

he just finished Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, about to start The Greatest Game Ever Played

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 12 November 2015 06:07 (ten years ago)

i really like this, weird as it is

Guide is a really good movie, one of my favorite performances of his, and watching him watch it was v moving & cool, laughter, tears, he went on a def ~journey~

idk, i think the kid has a lot of creativity & talent & maybe watching some of the good, the bad & the ugly will shake something loose or at least give him some good press

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 12 November 2015 06:11 (ten years ago)

i know this is exactly the kind of response this art-troll stuff is attempting to achieve, but this shit is so stupid and this guy is dumb.

otm

Οὖτις, Thursday, 12 November 2015 18:54 (ten years ago)

i feel kind of bad for him, he seems locked in a truly oppressive level of self-consciousness

he occasionally says he wants to not be famous anymore, but then he does stuff like this

it's a compulsion

he could go back to school, get a degree in business administration or something, and i dunno, help run a successful office-supply company. but he seems locked in this oscillation b/t wanting to be left alone, to leave his fame behind, and to be the center of attention.

wizzz! (amateurist), Thursday, 12 November 2015 18:54 (ten years ago)

we tend to use the word "narcissistic" as a putdown

and it is

but it's also a disorder, like depression or bipolar etc.

wizzz! (amateurist), Thursday, 12 November 2015 18:54 (ten years ago)

wahh

kurt schwitterz, Thursday, 12 November 2015 18:55 (ten years ago)

kurt schwitterz, Thursday, 12 November 2015 18:56 (ten years ago)

well sure there's a long line of people more deserving of our empathy

still, i can't help but react with a mix of revulsion and pity

kurt schwitterz, Thursday, 12 November 2015 21:08 (ten years ago)

i think it's funny that ppl get bent out of shape about it meanwhile shia's chilling eating pizza watching Tru Confessions rn

~makes u think~

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 12 November 2015 21:11 (ten years ago)

I can't think of a single Shia Lebouef movie I have seen or would willingly see

it's all been downhill since that Freaks and Geeks episode afaict

quelle suprise

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 12 November 2015 21:16 (ten years ago)

who's getting bent outta shape? like people were (rightly) mad about the daniel clowes thing.. and now the party line is "that was trolling! everything he does is trolling! genius!" which garners eyerolls rather than outrage.

kurt schwitterz, Thursday, 12 November 2015 21:18 (ten years ago)

a few of my friends were all "there are ppl dying & important things happening in the world why do u even care about this asshole"

shia is life, idk what else to tell them

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 12 November 2015 21:27 (ten years ago)

someone should interview this guy for their podcast!!!

dead (Lamp), Thursday, 12 November 2015 21:30 (ten years ago)

i just dont see any more in these art projects than i do with james franco's. is he life too?

kurt schwitterz, Thursday, 12 November 2015 21:30 (ten years ago)

this is the first one of Shia's escapades I'm kind of into

dunno why really

Number None, Thursday, 12 November 2015 21:31 (ten years ago)

after the chaos we had to endure, me and my boys ended up loving the transformers films.
yes, they were garbage, but they were brilliant dad-n-lads crap.
they became a thing we enjoyed despite all else.
and for those special afternoons alone, i will always have a place in my heart for shia.
subsequently, the more mad crap he does in the name of so called art, the more i love him.

mark e, Thursday, 12 November 2015 21:35 (ten years ago)

i guess the party line is i trolled you guys. well i dont about that. mostly because knowing about that would involve knowing about some pathetic, ridiculous, and absolutely true things about myself id gladly admit to during a press tour for transformers 4.

dead (Lamp), Thursday, 12 November 2015 21:36 (ten years ago)

here's the thing, a normal boring dude doing forced "weird" stuff isn't "mad" though.

kurt schwitterz, Thursday, 12 November 2015 21:38 (ten years ago)

performance art/bingewatching yr own movies, you say tomato

franco hasn't done anything this endearing or interesting in the name of art imo. at least this has some fun & inclusivity to it

the transformers films are definitely something. i have a grudging respect for the sheer scale of the spectacle. but whatever that "something" is it is pretty much 0 to do with shia leboeuf.

wizzz! (amateurist), Friday, 13 November 2015 05:36 (ten years ago)

Franco making out with himself for a 3 minute video >>>>>>>> a plagiarising cockbag repeatedly asking people to stare at him sitting down

six years pass...

Actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested early Tuesday morning in New Orleans after allegedly hitting two people during Mardi Gras celebrations, police told HuffPost. He has been charged with two counts of simple battery.

Police said the 39-year-old was "reportedly causing a disturbance and becoming increasing aggressive at a Royal Street business."

A worker at the business tried to remove LaBeouf from the building. Once LaBeouf left, he allegedly hit someone using a closed fist "several times." LaBeouf allegedly left and then came back, "acting even more aggressive," according to police.

Multiple people tried to hold LaBeouf down, but he allegedly hit the same victim again. He then allegedly hit another person in the nose.

LaBeouf was held down until police arrived and then taken to a nearby hospital for unknown injuries.

remember when he was originally cast in the Armie Hammer part in Call Me By Your Name?

The Luda of Suburbia (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 17 February 2026 20:11 (two months ago)

I never looked into his biopic movie Honey Boy because it sounded like a bad idea. Just looked it up and apparently it did well critically, but the premise made me pause: When 12-year-old Otis begins to find success as a television star, his abusive, alcoholic father returns and takes over as his guardian, and their contentious relationship is followed over a decade.

two guesses as to which role Shia plays

American Honey was the last good movie he was in.

Abel Ferrara

“He asked me three times if he could use his credit card,” said bartender Kyle Catarouch, who was working that early evening. The bar has at least 50 “Cash Only” signs. “Why don’t you go back and dig holes?” she said — a reference to the actor’s breakout movie Holes, from 2003.

Who's going to stop 200 balloons? Nobody! (President Keyes), Tuesday, 17 February 2026 20:51 (two months ago)

TMZ has video of Shia getting slapped around on the ground, it's kinda sad.

(•̪●) (carne asada), Tuesday, 17 February 2026 20:54 (two months ago)

it gets worse

Jeffrey Damnit – who was born with the last name Klein and was listed as one of the victims by New Orleans police – said in an interview on Wednesday that he was wearing mascara, eye shadow and lipstick when LaBeouf tried to beat him up “while screaming, ‘You’re a fucking faggot’”. He also shared a cellphone video showing LaBeouf in the back of a vehicle being examined by first responders, glancing over at Damnit and saying: “Faggot.”

“Keep on calling me faggot,” Damnit can be heard saying on the video.

Asked by text message if he would like to comment on LaBeouf’s arrest, the other man named by police as a victim in the case – Nathan Thomas Reed – replied: “I want it to be known that he was calling people faggot.” Reed said that included him – and that he identified as a queer man.
