RFI: Eye Contact

So, yeah tell me what signs to look for. Is the simple act of making eye contact a sign of attraction, or is there more to it than that?

(inadequacy thread, guilty as charged)

in some places it will get you killed. like wal-mart.

jess (dubplatestyle), Sunday, 20 October 2002 18:21 (twenty-three years ago)

haha yes also in my old neighbourhood.
anyway jel, sometimes eye-contact is a mistake, you just get 'caught' glancing at someone ( or surreptitiously staring as i am apt to do, and it doesnt mean i am attracted, i just like to look at people and imagine what their life is like ).

yeah, i do that a lot too. i am an inveterate stare-er, in an entirely non-sexual way.

(well, not entirely, all the time.)

It can be a challenge, as well as attraction (what's that Streets bit about making eye contact so no one thinks you're lightweight?). The way someone holds eye contact beyond the minimum is the guide; if you can't then tell the difference you're in all kinds of trouble.

once again, my rule about avoiding all outside human contact holds true.

i do a lot of eye contact with women when I'm travelling on the train just to piss 'em off. it makes me a happier, more adjusted human being.

yeah, it seems like girls are making eye contact with me! It phases me, I'm useless.

i physically rub eyeballs with every potential foe/mate to make my intentions perfectly clear

jones (actual), Sunday, 20 October 2002 18:56 (twenty-three years ago)

licking works well too, i think.

jess (dubplatestyle), Sunday, 20 October 2002 18:57 (twenty-three years ago)

I usually try to avoid catching people's eyes if only because, well, I can be a bit shy.

I guess I do make eye contact alot. But I try to do so in a non sexual way. I think of it as more interest than attraction.

I use eye contact for both sexual and non-sexual purposes.. often both at the same time in a night-on-da-town context. Both forms have proven successful in the past. I always initiate eye contact, but if she still seems indifferent, I ignore her.. often too quickly, me thinks.

nine years pass...

i'm much more like - i look at the face

i rly don't zero in on the eyes too often

some people find that strange but honestly i think there are a lot of mouth lookers in the world
