Of the ones I've seen, love both tabus, Tartuffe and Timbuktu and like the hated Congress

white privilege 2: the legend of clumsy scold (wins), Friday, 22 January 2016 21:04 (nine years ago)

i've had it out of the library for about a year. no one else wants it.

we can be heroes just for about 3.6 seconds (Dr Morbius), Friday, 22 January 2016 21:06 (nine years ago)

I haven't seen any of these! Grave of the Fireflies and Breaker Morant are both things that I've been meaning to watch one of these days, but truthfully, I'd probably gravitate towards McLintock! or Sleep My Love (never heard of it, but "Sirk noir" sounds irresistible) first.

Mr. Snrub, Friday, 22 January 2016 21:31 (nine years ago)

I haven't seen any of them (and have only heard of a couple) but would probably go with the Sirk or the Mitchum

Angela Lansbury is great fun in that.

The burrito of ennui (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 22 January 2016 22:03 (nine years ago)

Breaker Morant is great.

One bad call from barely losing to (Alex in SF), Friday, 22 January 2016 22:06 (nine years ago)

grave of the fireflies is a masterpiece but also a profound bummer

art, Friday, 22 January 2016 22:09 (nine years ago)

Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye I've not seen or maybe I have who knows but IIRC it's based on a great Horace McCoy novel (They Shoot Horses Don't They guy). I'm sure it's worthwhile.

One bad call from barely losing to (Alex in SF), Friday, 22 January 2016 22:12 (nine years ago)

grave of the fireflies, then walk out into the blizzard

HYPERLINK TO RAP GENIUS (BradNelson), Friday, 22 January 2016 22:20 (nine years ago)

Results is great, it is an off kilter feelgood movie that is ideal for being snowed in.

calzino, Friday, 22 January 2016 22:45 (nine years ago)

The Congress is one of the worst films I've ever seen. I'm afraid to rewatch Waltz with Bashir. When in doubt, always go for Murnau. But lots of stuff I like, lots more I would like to hear if is good.

Frederik B, Friday, 22 January 2016 22:49 (nine years ago)

Such Good Friends only if you're in the mood for a horror film (for future reference)

Josefa, Friday, 22 January 2016 22:52 (nine years ago)

Of the ones I haven't seen I'd go for Losey.

xyzzzz__, Friday, 22 January 2016 22:57 (nine years ago)

No Jerry? C'mon, you gotta have some Jerry!

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Friday, 22 January 2016 22:57 (nine years ago)

The Losey one is good, that's my rec

Josefa, Friday, 22 January 2016 23:03 (nine years ago)

i could go with some Fireflies right now

AdamVania (Adam Bruneau), Friday, 22 January 2016 23:22 (nine years ago)

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 23 January 2016 05:53 (nine years ago)

With all due respect I'm pretty impressed that you want to watch The Legend of Lylah Clare again

Josefa, Saturday, 23 January 2016 06:22 (nine years ago)

I saw Breaker Morant. In 1981.

we can be heroes just for about 3.6 seconds (Dr Morbius), Saturday, 23 January 2016 06:44 (nine years ago)

well watch it again jeez

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 23 January 2016 07:57 (nine years ago)

sorry for assuming there's a movie u havent seen :)

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 23 January 2016 07:57 (nine years ago)

Saw Breaker Morant on a double bill with Gallipoli, worked well together.

More surprised that Morbs hasn't seen the Murnaus (I'm saying that mainly for the alliterative pleasure)

Chicamaw (Ward Fowler), Saturday, 23 January 2016 08:01 (nine years ago)

i might've seen Tabu a million years ago, but don't think so

we can be heroes just for about 3.6 seconds (Dr Morbius), Saturday, 23 January 2016 09:30 (nine years ago)

one down, the Losey scifi/atomic children/ biker film. what a weird one. Great coastal location shooting, flaccid nuclear-anxiety script tho.

we can be heroes just for about 3.6 seconds (Dr Morbius), Saturday, 23 January 2016 09:38 (nine years ago)

Breaker Morant is great.
grave of the fireflies is a masterpiece but also a profound bummer

a bit late but co-signing these!

the naive cockney chorus (Simon H.), Saturday, 23 January 2016 15:54 (nine years ago)

These Are the Damned is the shorter American cut; the UK version dispenses with 'These Are' but adds about ten minutes of extra footage. The gang of toughs in it have always seemed proto-droog to me.

Chicamaw (Ward Fowler), Saturday, 23 January 2016 15:58 (nine years ago)

Sony put out a Hammer set a few years ago that has the full 95m version, that's what i watched.

Weird that you think i'd hate a screwball comedy by Bujalski, but whatev! Also, the best Anthony Michael Hall performance in 30 years? Didn't recognize him.
