Least Promising Sequel of 2016

Admittedly, Batman v Superman is iffy--but it is Zach Snyder's follow-up to Man of Steel. I voted for it simply on the grounds that it is going to be the most difficult to avoid.

Oh hey, Crouching Tiger comes out next week. I am interested in that one.

I'm voting for Alice since it's probably not only bad but also a travesty.

I'm voting Purge: Election Year. it will in no way be the worst movie, objectively speaking, but their attempts at 'politics' in the 2nd film were browbeating and cringeworthy and it appears they're going to double down on that in the third one.

There are a lot of unfortunate sequels to unfortunate movies on that list, but the first one feels like the biggest travesty.

I have a guilty fondness for CGI kids' movies so I always end up watching each new Ice Age movie despite not especially liking any of them, and the last one was so goddamn lazy and horrible I almost gouged my eyes out. of course I shouldn't have expected any more BUT

so I'm prob going to vote for the new one even against Star Trek: Even More Lens Flare, and the puzzlingly belated existence of Kindergarten Cop 2 and Bridget Jones: TNG, and who let Burton/Depp near the other Alice, makes my brain itchy just thinking about it, and...

The original Kindergarten Cop was like a dreadful heap of flyblown animal entrails. I can't imagine what depths the sequel will sink to.

This looks like it's a standalone sequel. Hopefully it will fill in what's happened in the Kindergarten Cop universe in the intervening 25 years.

I'd really like to see a behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of something like Kindergarten Cop 2, because I have to wonder what the mood on the set was (among anyone who isn't 6). Like, I wanna know what it was like for people whose dream it was to one day work in the movies to have to get up every morning and go to work on a straight-to-video sequel to a nearly three-decade-old film that nobody liked in the first place and starring an off-brand version of the original star. That's gotta be at least as fascinating and disturbing as Hearts of Darkness.

I love the phrase "all-new movie".

Burton isn't directing this time, just producing, not that makes me want to watch another Alice movie in his style

I shut off the first Alice as soon as it became apparent (as it should have from the trailers) that it was just going to be another assortment of Depp's infuriatingly arrogant quirks.

It's not on there, but judging by the trailer, 'London Has Fallen', the follow up to 'Olympus has Fallen' looks like the worst film ever made.

It has Morgan Freeman sitting in a leather chair, impassively staring down the camera. It has many large explosions of orange flame. What more could you ask?
