Most Insufferable Big Three TV Network Promo Mugfest (1989 Edition)

It's hard to believe that there was a time when these star-studded fall TV preview commercials could've possibly been an effective marketing tool. I picked '89 because that seems to be the year all three networks finally got on the same page with producing promos that showcase their talent hamming it up in front of neon lights and whatnot. Many, many more of these horrors can be found on this wonderful YouTube channel.

And now I feel like a fool because of course Fox also had one of these.

CBS one is amazing. "Here come the 90s!" "The 90s are coming!" it's almost indistinguishable from a South Park parody in places.

These are some of the most cheesiest 90s things I have ever seen though! Highly indicative of how the 90s actually started in the late 80s.

My lifelong dream of seeing Bob Hope interact with ALF has finally been realized.

You know, nothing better said that a major television network was ready for the 90s than to have Bob Hope and an alien puppet bond together.

Had to turn off the Fox one as soon as Bud Bundy started to read viewer mail.

Those really capture why I have so much affection for the '80s.

There are innumerable threads filled with broken links but these poll options are clearly the ones most urgently in need of addressing:

But really I came here to address the magic of 1985's ABC 'We Love It' campaign, which somehow feels spiritually akin to the Turner Doomsday Video:
