The "Hope" episode of Black-ish was one of the best things I've ever seen on T.V.

it was REALLY funny and also really touching/poignant/sad. and Ta-Nehisi Coates got a lot of airtime. cyrus loved it too. and he's 11.

you can watch it on Hulu if you have Hulu. oh you people know how to watch stuff. i forget who i'm talking to sometimes.

The existence of Black-ish is making the self-immolation of Bill Cosby hurt a lot less.

The whole season was pretty great, but this episode was all-time.

need to check this out. the police violence ep was also surprisingly strong for network tv

oh apologies for the oversight, i assumed there was a second/subsequent important episode from this season (since this aired a few months back initially).

i'll definitely echo the sentiment of this thread - that episode is incredibly well executed, meaningful, and important. it's great that this show exists, full stop. that they so artfully maneuvered a really difficult and important issue without sacrificing substance (or at least without sacrificing a critical perspective that could have easily been dulled out or dumbed down) and that a major, ad-beholden, corporate subsidiary network would air it is worthy of recognition.

the new season of Grey's Anatomy apparently tackles COVID head on as well

if South Park tackles it, I don't want to see it
