9 year old threads do usually seem a little hazier to me, but sometimes I'll dig up a thread I started a few months ago only to discover it was from like 2012 or something.

The shifts in tone across the different eras is fascinating to read.

In one of the Ali threads someone commented about how ILX-y it is to view things through an American-y lens, a complete 180 from what the 2001-2 threads look like where this place might as well be a UK BBS.

I assume Tom D. left after a bit of a run-in with the mods. As for ogmor, he's been known to vanish and reappear. Both are missed.

I'm just operating under the blanket assumption that any ILXors who disappear at this particular historical moment are doing so for the sake of their well-being and will, hopefully, return at a more propitious point in time.

i actually had planned to dip out after 2016 because me and this place weren't getting along, but stayed for the election posting.

then Trump won, so I stayed for a need to be consoled. now I like it here again.

at this point in history this is the only place I can post. social media, which I mostly don't use atm, is full of terrible info and has basically turned into snitchbook.
