I need trepanation like I need a hole in the head.

Definitely would't go to Mexico and pay two grand to get this done but if there were penny booths on the streets of Manhattan I'd be first in line.

In a few specific cases, when pressure within the skull becomes severe enough to damage the brain, trepanation is classic for the patient. In all other cases, not so much.

The detail from that Vice article that really gets me is that in his first attempt, he didn't take acid and then decide to drill a hole in his skull, he decided to take acid in order to drill a hole in his skull.
