because the other thread is obnoxious and sexist

S/D = sexy/dumpy?

In that Norm story on that other thread she totally leaves us hanging: so why did her car smell like poop?

at what point does 'not commenting on a woman's appearance' become a strange sort of delusion? like saying, 'i dont see colour'. or 'i didnt even notice you were ____! when did THAT happen?'
im guessing if anyone from this site met SS and someone passed comment on her attractiveness, theyd say 'wow, thats really interesting. thats not something ive ever noticed...'
me personally, ive not noticed, i just see a human being. for me, she shines from within, not outside. all i see is an inner light, a generosity of spirit.

I don't notice beauty. All I see are bags of meat occupying space.

she's an ok comedian. i was like half watching her thing at the DNC and thought it was going well but afterward i learned she told the bernie holdouts they were "being ridiculous" which was a dumb thing to say during an overture.
― Treeship, Wednesday, 27 July 2016 16:01 (eight years ago)
i was waiting for her to say what she said she had 'so much to say' about.
― StillAdvance, Wednesday, 27 July 2016 16:04 (eight years ago)
Does she still do stand-up? I know she's been acting a lot more, and being an activist and whatnot, but has she had a recent special/movie?
― Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 27 July 2016 16:06 (eight years ago)
Hmm, looks like she had one in 2013 called "We Are Miracles."
― Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 27 July 2016 16:07 (eight years ago)
she told the bernie holdouts they were "being ridiculous" which was a dumb thing to say during an overture.
this was the best moment of her appearance, someone had to say it to shut up the chanting CA delegates, who were doing things like yelling about TPP over Elijah Cummings' story about his former sharecropper parents.
― Οὖτις, Wednesday, 27 July 2016 16:07 (eight years ago)
"We Are Miracles" is v funny
People should be yelling about TPP. Fuck pristine stage-managed conventions.

shouting down a black man discussing his family history of overcoming enormous institutional barriers = nagl
― Οὖτις, Wednesday, 27 July 2016 16:12 (eight years ago)
well, she was obviously there bc she was a bernie ppl who was supposed to bring other bernie voters back into the fold -- this was the essence of her speech -- so in that task she fucked up as badly as possible
― Treeship, Wednesday, 27 July 2016 16:19 (eight years ago)
"she was a bernie ppl" jesus. u know what i meant
― Treeship, Wednesday, 27 July 2016 16:20 (eight years ago)
I don't think her comment was received the way you think it was
― Οὖτις, Wednesday, 27 July 2016 16:22 (eight years ago)
I didn't like the "feel the bern"/cream joke. While a cute line, it felt a little cheap, like a nerd mocking a bigger nerd to try to ingratiate herself to the cool kids.
― socka flocka-jones (man alive), Wednesday, 27 July 2016 16:25 (eight years ago)
im seeing a lot of people on social media who are mad about it xp
― Treeship, Wednesday, 27 July 2016 16:28 (eight years ago)
I'm not gonna get butthurt about it or anything, cuz then I might need cream.

I saw the first episode and I agree. I wish it were longer, though.

It was cute, but (having just seen that episode last night) compared to the first two episodes and in light of the show's purported mission the whole episode felt (from non-stop fart and poop jokes to Tig following that bit with yet another bit just like it) like a show that knew it was being cancelled and needed to use or lose the last bits of its budget. Obviously the show keeps going, it just felt like a strange thing to drop in so early in the run.
― Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 22 November 2017 13:31 (seven years ago)
It's been cancelled already?
― Οὖτις, Wednesday, 22 November 2017 14:43 (seven years ago)
No, not at all! Just meant that the third episode was so kind of half-assed it felt like senioritis had already set in.
― Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 22 November 2017 14:47 (seven years ago)
I detect a clear strategy of undercutting the serious stuff w scatalogical humor, which tbf has been part if her schtick since forever. I do like the silly pomo riffs on talk show conventions.
― Οὖτις, Wednesday, 22 November 2017 14:50 (seven years ago)
Oh, I agree about the poop jokes. But there was no serious stuff in the third episode, just Tig pretending to be an auctioneer. Unlike the Texas Trump voters talking about pooping themselves the previous episode.
― Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 22 November 2017 16:15 (seven years ago)
hope this doesn't get cancelled, some truly good stuff here. silverman's response to the CK news was on point
