Sleep sounds

television shows. music rarely works cos I listen too intently.

which is weird as growing up, the opposite was true. the television habit started as a result of doing theatre - I'd always be bummed closing night so I'd put the tv on going to bed instead of choons cos the latter would make me moody. then it stuck.

Got tinnitus. Blue/violet work the best. Sometimes mixed with water and/or cricket sounds.

(My iphone White Noise app is genuinely a life-saver! Or, at least, a good-mental-health-saver.)

Yeah, man, TV if anything. Of late, the low-volume, unintelligible murmuring of Mulder and Scully has been more effective than a lullaby.

Silence if in bed, chill music if in a less sleep friendly environment. Pretty much programmed myself to fall asleep by track 4 of eluvium's talk amongst the trees, except in extreme cases of large italian man snoring like a dying rhino in the couchette.

Silence. Crickets/nature. I can sleep through almost anything as long as I'm physically comfortable though.

I don't sleep well, as a rule - wake up multiple times during the night. I can sleep with silence, but mostly, have some sort of noise. If it's hot, a fan does double duty, with cooling and white noise. Winter, usually a mix of ambient (Arnalds, Johannson, Stars of the Lid, Loscil, Murcof, etc.). Need to clean up my iPod, so I can load the 8 hr version of Max Richter's _Sleep_, and see how that works. Water sounds, bought a $15 meditation fountain at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Will run that usually on Fri, Sat nights as it influences my dreams. Classical also affects the dreams - Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade dependably leads to epic adventure dreams.
