Famous critics who work as part of a duo

Been reading up on Ebert and Roeper and it got me thinking, what other famous duos are there in the world of reviews/criticism (of anything, not just film)? Along with all the ensuing tension and status head-butting.

I guess Coogan & Brydon in The Trip could be included too.

These are great, thanks all. I guess this counts too:

Boswell's Journal and Johnson's Journey make an interesting study in contrasts. Johnson considers things philosophically and maintains a high level of generality. Boswell's approach is more anecdotal, even gossipy, and succeeds in large part because of Boswell's keen eye and ear for detail.

Manny Farber and his wife Patricia Patterson wrote a lot together. They weren't reviewing films, but their piece on Taxi Driver is well known.

On a similar note, don't think Andrew Sarris and Molly Haskell over wrote anything together, but it seems they did function as a team in some sense.

I have a vague recollection that they may have written a piece or two together--but you've reminded me that Christgau and Carola Dibbell have often written together, including, I think, a regular video column.

How did Christgau contribute to her recent novel?

i've done point/cointerpoint pieces with other writers and it's a lot of fun to go back and forth with two distinct voices/opinions. but i've never really collaborated on a piece and whenever i see a piece with 2 bylines i wonder how that works. do they take turns? does one write the first draft and then the other does a pass adding/changing things beyond what an editor would? i'm curious about the process but i don't know if i'd ever have a good reason to work that way.

Ah yes. The first is a classic. Not familiar with the second.
