october's my fav too. i'd "normally" be a winter-is-better-than-summer person but winter here is unspeakably awful because the air is a trapped layer of synthetically coated car exhaust that makes everyone sicker than they care to admit for three months.

when the air is clear and cold though, just after a storm, and it's night time and no one is outside, i'll take that over any summer evening with the possible exception of late spring when lilacs are blooming.

it's going to be 90 tomorrow but i won't let that stop me from making beef stew to celebrate september

Looks like we might get an autumn in the South East of England this year, instead of going straight from hot weather to cold/windy/raining like the last few years.

In Brooklyn at the moment, and it's been shifting between shorts and pants temps. Too hot, too cold, too hot, etc. Probably because climate control settings are confused, too.

still in the mid-90s here, but we got a temporary humidity drop over the weekend and I'm sitting in the afternoon quiet after work and I can feel autumn like silver threads in the sunlight, cicadas are making a racket to cover up the sudden absence of summer, no more prop planes macerating thick air, a vague sense that homework is piling up, still hot enough to swim but the mouth is craving dark beer, red brown and orange ribbons are being drawn tight, delicious

sorry guys. definitely feeling like the beginning of fall in the intermountain west. a big system over the weekend broke the heat. highs in the mid 80s for the next several days and hoodie weather in the mornings.

those first few hints of fall feel exciting and kind of frightening? seasonal changes affect me more than they used to with age.

yeah that kinda sucks. reminds me of the time we drove 10 hours to TN for some delightful hiking and could barely go outside it was so hot so we spent our vacation indoors watching the J6 hearings

It’s just a bummer because I love nothing more than to wander around new places, but it’s hard to enjoy that in Á perimenopausal body when it is over 95, as humid as a steam room, and devoid of shade. Give me proper September weather, please!

It has been hot as balls for way too long. This summer has been disgusting: scorching heat, torrential rain, and toxic air. Which is your favorite?

Of the three, I'm a fan of the scorching heat. Higher the temperature goes, the lower the dew point drops. When it's 95° and the dew point's at 75°, bleh. But 102° and 67°? At least I don't have to change my shirt three times.

I'll take a pair of tight shoes over all three though.
