That thread is driving me farking nuts!
Because there are so many responses and so many pics and links to load, it takes forever to check out a new post to the thread.
So, I just thought I'd mention that someone of an organizational bent could go here: http://www.picturetrail.com/
They can then sign up for a free album. Yes, it's free. But there's a catch. They really want you to fork up the $20 or so that it will cost to host the albums for a year. It's a pittance, really, if someone wants to give it. But even if you don't, you get all the perks of membership, gloriously FREE for the first 30 days. That means you can load up to 500 pics or 50 mgs of space or some such. (It's been a while and I forget exactly what the fine print says)
After 30 days, you lose your freebie status and become restricted to the number of pics you have in the albums... or a maximum of 30. It's worth noting that (as I understand it), if you have 150 pics in your albums, they're not going to make you take them down -- they're just not going to let you load more up. [Reference my comments up above about the pittance of $20.]
Anyway, if someone wanted to snag one of those albums on behalf of the ixl community, people could post pics of themselves, their FAP gatherings, etc, *there* and post the link (you'll need the album name and the password) and then, those of us who want to peek at what the rest of you look like wouldn't need to wait five minutes for the farking thread to load.
No, really. Don't thank me. :-)

Here's the sign-up link:
http://www.picturetrail.com/register/register.cgiYou'll need to give an e-mail addy, so whoever does it should be someone who's actively involved in the ixler community. C'mon now -- there's got to be plenty of candidates.
If you're really organized, you can snag a couple of free albums and perhaps organize them by country or FAP location.
Please -- someone end my suffering!

The picturetrail people have a really nice set-up. I use them for my own online community. There's some sample albums on the main page -- check it out. I'm sure you'll be pleased. It's a win-win situation.

Change your settings to 'show messages=last 20' then the older posts (and all their embedded images) won't get loaded.

Ahh. Thank you. That's much better now.
None of which renders my picturetrail suggestion any less valid. There were numerous complaints in that thread about finding free pic hosting services -- picture trail is one, in a manner of speaking.
[No, I won't receive any kickbacks as a result of my posts, but feel free to send me money anyway.]
