A watch that doesn't tell the time properly. Because, you know, we're like all slaves to time. And also it costs £200.

They didn't care that "slow" already has a specific meaning for clocks?

"3.41PM Or would there be a difference if it were 3.42PM?"

Ummm...

....i don't think you really are getting what they're selling.

i mean this is obviously a lame as hell lifestyle brand but the single-hand watch is totally legit, and their watches will be quite accurate.

here are some beautiful single-hand watches: http://www.meistersinger.com/collection.html

those have markers for every 5 minutes, though (on a watch face representing 12 hours), which seems just about practical. markers for every *15* minutes on a face that represents 24 hours = gtfo

yup, still a dumb lifestyle brand. i agree the 24-hour face is not good, and the watches are just kind of ugly.

it looks like something from the series of The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin where he opened a shop that made a selling point out of the fact that none of its products worked properly

the website claims it could 'change your life' but all they've done is remove a key feature and made it the selling point. something really conceited and privileged about owning a (yeah ugly-looking) watch while not having to care about what time you're meant to catch your morning train.

i guess in a world where everybody has a phone i don't look at watches as being about telling time per se. i love mechanical watches, have 3 of them, and don't worry too much if they're a minute or two off. this brand is def pushing lax readability/accuracy to its limit but my primary objection would be that they don't look very good.
