Kaitlin Olson in "The Mick"

Anyone else watching this? Cracking me up. Kaitlin Olson plays a hilariously awful person (really branching out!), and the rest of the cast is pretty funny too, especially the housekeeper.

Ads for this did not look good. Bummed she got some work done.

i'll watch it. i'll watch anything.

I mean, I'm not claiming it's Prestige TV or anything, but I had a bunch of lols watching the first few episodes. And I don't mind that it's not completely soulless like Always Sunny. That show is too much for me to take in more than tiny little doses.

Wrong opinions

I grew tired of Always Sunny after watching the first 7-8 seasons faithfully and took a break of a few years until I read the thread here recently and saw The Mick and decided to catch back up.

the time away was good - cos that show is still golden.

The Mick wasn't terrible from the two episodes I saw, but it's edges are too blunted to work for me as something I'll watch regularly. Kaitlin Olson is really the only reason to watch but I really just kept thinking "I'd rather be watching Always Sunny right now" after I saw each ep

most offensive thing of my post was the unnecessary apostrophe omg

Neanderthal, Sunday, 15 January 2017 02:01 (eight years ago)

okay, i watched the first three. it's fine. i laughed here and there. would watch again. just so many people behaving badly shows. the grandma was definitely jarring and weird.

scott seward, Sunday, 15 January 2017 03:23 (eight years ago)

most of the problem with the 'behaving badly' shows is they're on basic cable so they're so blunted as to not even scan. there's always limits to how far they can go so sharp writing is the only thing that would elevate it, which isn't really present here.

but Kaitlin's enough to milk laughs out of average material.

that red-headed kid was in Wet Hot American Summer (The Netflix series), wasn't he? if so, his voice only recently changed

Neanderthal, Sunday, 15 January 2017 03:25 (eight years ago)

I dunno, the scene where she tries to get Ben to barf up a bag of heroin by trying to gag him with her hand didn't seem blunted!

This show is so funny and skewers everyone.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Thursday, 8 February 2018 04:03 (seven years ago)

tried watching always sunny but it seemed to be george-costanza-is-an-awkward-asshole taken to the next level? i can respect that, but did not enjoy it

mookieproof, Thursday, 8 February 2018 04:12 (seven years ago)

Mookie try the Wade Boggs ep of Sunny. Seriously. Report back.

the dance episode was one of the funniest ones yet. 20 episodes into season 2 it's also one of the few shows to do long runs like this

Droni Mitchell (Ross), Saturday, 7 April 2018 07:04 (seven years ago)

The Graduation ep was hilarious and ended in quite an unexpected manner. I laughed my ass off then felt kind of bad that I did, haw.
