Not sold on his musical comedy (that I've seen so far) but otherwise completely classic. I know he's successful and famous but somehow I don't see much talk of him.
Watched his Dirty South documentary last night and he goes on a nasty rant about musician biopics, accuses Phoenix and Fox of raping the corpses of Johnny Cash and Ray Charles, then says a big "fuck you" to people who like films like that. It was really funny.
All his BBC documentaries are worth seeing.

PB has a set of his documentaries up. I grabbed it a couple of weeks back but have probably seen most of them anyway.

What is PB?

He's great in early seasons of QI.

Before today I'd never heard about sniglets or his work on American tv. I thought maybe he's a UK based American comedian like Reginald D Hunter. The majority of his YouTube search results are from UK and Australian tv.

Loved his bit (possibly in the California documentary) about his face compared to the MTV ideal, I'm paraphrasing: "this is a BBC face, a BBC 4 face, a face you can only see at night".
Also his routines on Tom Cruise and microwave food.

Astonishingly, someone in the earlier days of ILX said he was the worst thing ever on QI.

My experience is exactly the opposite. He's the sniglets dude from the '80s who was on Saturday Night Live and Not Necessarily the News and then disappeared off the face of the earth thirty years ago. I'm glad to learn he's doing well.

He veers between boring/bored and pretty good, all within five minutes.
But he's actually told a joke or two in his life and therefore in a completely different class than reg d hunter

I was shocked about how the rest of the world knew about Rich Hall.
I asked my wife, "You don't know who Tommy Shaw is, but you know Rich Hall?"
― pplains, Monday, 8 May 2017 14:44 (eight years ago)
Also, that isn't the "Live from the Apollo" that I'd heard of.
― pplains, Monday, 8 May 2017 14:47 (eight years ago)
Had to look up Tommy Shaw. The Styx member? Why compare his fame with Rich Hall?
― Robert Adam Gilmour, Monday, 8 May 2017 15:01 (eight years ago)
I keep hoping someone will upload to YT the early Comedy Channel promo with the mail guy delivering packages to the offices of all the shows. No luck so far.
Mail guy delivering a chicken to Rich Hall: "Hey Rich it says this'll help your act!"Rich, deadpan: "I'm not working with a chicken."
Mail guy delivering to the Higgins Boys & Gruber: "Package for the coffee achievers."HBs&G, digging into the coffee: "Coffee!"
Etc.
Someone, somewhere must have this on a tape!

This guy is one of those people who is way more famous in the UK than he is in America. The dude out of Fun Lovin' Criminals is another one of those people.

huey criminal is a dublin legend btw
Just seen his new American Dream documentary on iplayer, not sure what to make of it overall, I think a lot of things needed backing up, like how the fifties situation is responsible for internet addiction. But I enjoyed it.

Beware the youtube upload, the sound cuts out occasionally.

this thread is really weird when you have confused Rich Hall with Rich Little in your head and don't have images on
