Controversial invisible handball thread.

Matt DC, Saturday, 12 August 2017 10:57 (eight years ago)

Real posters you don't have to Google only.

Matt DC, Saturday, 12 August 2017 11:01 (eight years ago)

didn't we lose the liverpool title in recent years? we're in the hunt for little more than fourth, if anyone deserves to be given the "will fuck up the title no matter what" based on recent years it's spurs.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 11:17 (eight years ago)

I think you'll be heavily involved in the title race this year, give or take a new defensive signing or two.

Matt DC, Saturday, 12 August 2017 11:30 (eight years ago)

Salah / Manè should be fantastic.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Saturday, 12 August 2017 11:32 (eight years ago)

Also putting Spurs in the thread title will only encourage people.

Matt DC, Saturday, 12 August 2017 11:32 (eight years ago)

Fullback situation looks very dodgy for Liverpool though.

Matt DC, Saturday, 12 August 2017 11:34 (eight years ago)

ffs

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 11:39 (eight years ago)

minute we give away a corner you think "prob gonna concede a goal here" and so it proves

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 11:40 (eight years ago)

*Deletes Liverpool from thread title*

Matt DC, Saturday, 12 August 2017 11:40 (eight years ago)

watford look by far the better team here

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 11:42 (eight years ago)

this is fucking painful - how can they be this bad so soon

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 11:57 (eight years ago)

Mane is so good.

Matt DC, Saturday, 12 August 2017 11:58 (eight years ago)

that flick tho

Number None, Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:00 (eight years ago)

he really is. word of my post obv reached the pitch. lovely goal.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:00 (eight years ago)

xpost

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:00 (eight years ago)

henderson is worryingly shit so far.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:00 (eight years ago)

football!

Number None, Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:02 (eight years ago)

almost have to laugh

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:02 (eight years ago)

they look brittle and scared every time watford have the ball in and around the box tbh. fucking joke to still be so bad at the back.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:02 (eight years ago)

Going to be 4-3 again.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:04 (eight years ago)

Mignolet there going for the counter and obligingly rolling the ball straight to a Watford player.

Matt DC, Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:12 (eight years ago)

Stop calling him Okaku ffs.

Matt DC, Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:14 (eight years ago)

Liverpool look flat as fuck here

put your hands on the car and get ready to die (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:14 (eight years ago)

Firmino has been completely anonymous and none of this back four looks remotely like Champions League standard.

Matt DC, Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:18 (eight years ago)

Salah's shooting has been pretty entertaining

put your hands on the car and get ready to die (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:28 (eight years ago)

henderson the worst culprit but can has no real creativity either. would take a draw here in an instant.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:33 (eight years ago)

truth is liverpool will concede at least one more in this game, at the very least that is. they might score another.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:33 (eight years ago)

how can a pro deny that is a penalty? like it couldn't be more obvious.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:46 (eight years ago)

So Firmino is playing after all.

Good too be back, EPL.

Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:47 (eight years ago)

my stream broke as firmino was about to hit the penalty - terrifying.

xpost also hooray for salah's first goal

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:47 (eight years ago)

Two games, 12 goals is pretty good going.

Matt DC, Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:48 (eight years ago)

Even allowing for inflation, Firmino must be worth at least 6 Tony Galvins.

calzino, Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:49 (eight years ago)

if we ever invent time travel and cloning i'd like to watch vast matches featuring legions of trevor francises pitted against the same number of dean saunderses

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:51 (eight years ago)

Nice to see someone make a save, I didn't realise the rules still allowed that.

Matt DC, Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:53 (eight years ago)

that sub right back for watford is muck

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:54 (eight years ago)

Watford falling apart rn

Well bissogled trotters (Michael B), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:55 (eight years ago)

trent aa is v young but he does look p solid to me

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:56 (eight years ago)

touch wood

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:56 (eight years ago)

Falling apart indeed, but even this breakaway from Watford leads to comedy capers in Pool's defense

Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:57 (eight years ago)

i think the problems in the defence are so deep that one player won't fix them, even if they can sign vvd or whatever. there's a rot there for a long time now.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 12:59 (eight years ago)

trent aa is v young but he does look p solid to me

he definitely has good delivery

Number None, Saturday, 12 August 2017 13:00 (eight years ago)

yeah he played a beautiful cross earlier that was well cut out

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 13:01 (eight years ago)

I hate giving Murdoch clicks, but the BBC don't seem to be capable of providing a functional latest scores page, so fuck them.

calzino, Saturday, 12 August 2017 13:07 (eight years ago)

can't believe it's going to be another season of butt-clenching scorelines like this in the last 15 mins. some lost, some held.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 13:08 (eight years ago)

could be a blessing in disguise, as they might try and get vvd after all now

Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 12 August 2017 13:11 (eight years ago)

just need to southampton grant vvd his dream while preventing coutinho from making the worst decision of his life.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 August 2017 13:13 (eight years ago)

Oh dear.

Matt DC, Saturday, 12 August 2017 13:22 (eight years ago)

amazing

Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 12 August 2017 13:23 (eight years ago)

mignolet own goal it seems.

Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 12 August 2017 13:24 (eight years ago)

Nah, it's fake xp

groovypanda, Tuesday, 31 July 2018 11:16 (seven years ago)

oops, often parodies of footballers seem more believable than the real thing to me.

calzino, Tuesday, 31 July 2018 11:22 (seven years ago)

how disappointing

the Joao looked at Jonny (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 31 July 2018 11:23 (seven years ago)

It fooled a lot of the media at the time too calzino

groovypanda, Tuesday, 31 July 2018 11:26 (seven years ago)

ah, it did seem real!

Adams dissing Shaqiri and saying if he'd have turned up more often Stoke might have stayed, might have some truth to it, but that useless, overpaid lump isn't in a place to make such judgments imo

calzino, Tuesday, 31 July 2018 11:29 (seven years ago)

*stayed up*

calzino, Tuesday, 31 July 2018 11:30 (seven years ago)

i salute anybody who didn't have it in their heart to keep Stoke up

the Joao looked at Jonny (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 31 July 2018 11:32 (seven years ago)

the joy was real even if the account was fake, amd isnt that the real lesson here

dele alli my bookmarks (darraghmac), Tuesday, 31 July 2018 11:33 (seven years ago)

to play for stoke you need heart, lungs and offal

dele alli my bookmarks (darraghmac), Tuesday, 31 July 2018 11:33 (seven years ago)

If Shaqiri really took it easy, knowing Stoke's relegation would trigger his relatively cheap escape clause outta that shithole, then he is already a legend!

calzino, Tuesday, 31 July 2018 11:40 (seven years ago)

It appears Burnley haven't signed anyone, both keepers are crocked, Dyche is apparently so focused on buying British he's considering Crouch and then there is all them useless LDV Johnstone's Paint Trophy Euro cup games! I think the Burnley project might come unstuck this season. Too insular and inbred like their fans! I never forget them photos of Burnley fans after the Wembley playoff win, looking like befuddled 18th century time travellers.

calzino, Tuesday, 31 July 2018 20:20 (seven years ago)

I think Burnley and Tottenham are the only two Premier League sides not to have signed anyone this transfer window *crosses fingers* so far

groovypanda, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 07:49 (seven years ago)

Pereira has done the blunder of releasing Ben Hamer, who has been so good in pre-season that some think he might start over Lossl against Chelsea, rather than just adding competition. Then they've paid £12m for Ward, who made some incredible saves in the playoff final for us, but was our weakest link over the season. He was mostly the reason we had one of the biggest negative gd's of a promoted side in ages, and was an absolute consistent liability. If Schmeichel goes in this window and he's the no.1, they are so fucked!

calzino, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 08:35 (seven years ago)

Do Burnley need another striker? That seems to be the one area where they have reasonable depth.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 08:45 (seven years ago)

if they still have Nakhi Wells on the books I'd say they do need more depth! It looks like Dyche's hopes for this window was getting Jay Rodriguez and Craig Dawson from W Brom and they are holding out for big money. It'll probably happen on deadline day.

calzino, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:01 (seven years ago)

got burnley to go down this season

nxd, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:09 (seven years ago)

I think they will as well. I know Dyche is a bit of a cult figure on here, but I think he's a retrograde numpt!

calzino, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:14 (seven years ago)

cardiff and huddersfield are bookies favourites but half the league is vulnerable

ogmor, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:27 (seven years ago)

If I had a mortgage I'd put it on the 4/6 you can get on Huddersfield staying up. There... I've completely fucked it now!

calzino, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:30 (seven years ago)

yearning for an opposite of leicester-winning-the-league and man city to inexplicably find themselves bottom in may

nxd, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:31 (seven years ago)

I reckon Huddersfield will consolidate quite nicely tbh. Watford really struggled in the second half of last season, have sold their best player and their main signing is the permanently-crocked Delofeu. I'd say they're pretty fucked.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:33 (seven years ago)

I hope Huddersfield will play better football this season 'round. Can see Watford going down easily, like Burnley and Cardiff. And Soton. Love2c West Ham go down.

Tempted to put a tenner on Wolves winning the PL w/ 1/251 odds

lbi's life of limitless european glamour (Le Bateau Ivre), Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:38 (seven years ago)

Yeah I've got Southampton to go down with Watford and Cardiff.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:38 (seven years ago)

We will probably still play awful football against the top sides, but I could see us dishing out some comprehensive arsekickings to some of the other dross sides that have stayed still or gone backwards!

calzino, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:42 (seven years ago)

I don't know if our idiot brigade are starting to get to me but I have questions about the depth and balance of our squad, it is pretty young on balance. Might take us a couple of years to challenge for the title.

the Joao looked at Jonny (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:43 (seven years ago)

Who are the new Huddersfield fantasy football picks this season? I did very well with Schindler and Kongolo as under-the-radar bargain buys last season.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:43 (seven years ago)

Oh no doubt! #believe

Did think Wagner played very conservative and defensive last season. But then it was hard to fault him for it with such limited attacking options.

lbi's life of limitless european glamour (Le Bateau Ivre), Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:45 (seven years ago)

Schindler and Kongolo again so far! But we definitely haven't finished with this window. One of our lot posted these lol! stats that show that Depoitre and Mounie are up there with the best forwards in the prem! But I genuinely believe that they are very underrated and we certainly we couldn't do any better for the price. And they have both been looking sharp in pre-season.

Steve Mounié - 7 goals from 49 shots (14%)
Harry Kane - 108 goals from 596 shots (18%)
Alexis Sanchez - 62 goals from 445 shots (14%)
Sergio Aguero - 143 goals from 802 shots (18%)

calzino, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:50 (seven years ago)

Laurent Depoitre - 6 goals from 25 shots (24% of shots result in goals)

calzino, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:51 (seven years ago)

horrifying rumours about us signing Smalling this morning, local journo says no but this is the kind of thing that gives you sleepless nights pre-season

the Joao looked at Jonny (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 1 August 2018 09:56 (seven years ago)

watford have a pretty good midfield but there is a fragile, mercenary feel about them. brighton & west ham have made signings & should be fine. obv I have no clue but I enjoy making lists so I'm saying:

City
Liverpool
Man U
Spurs
Arsenal
Chelsea
Portugal
Leicester
Wham
Palace
Everton
Brighton
Newcastle
Burnley
Fulham
Watford
Bournemouth
Huddersfield
Southampton
Cardiff

ogmor, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 10:05 (seven years ago)

don't get me wrong, I am v fond of wagner's huddersfield and am hoping for full blown mou meltdown but this feels like an appropriate amount of pessimism

ogmor, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 10:07 (seven years ago)

we are getting linked with some shite Newc Utd dud, whilst they are apparently about to sign one of our primary targets, the Belgium winger Limbombe. Fuck off Newsnow, gonna stop clicking on you!

spurs for 8th

dele alli my bookmarks (darraghmac), Wednesday, 1 August 2018 10:32 (seven years ago)

Limbombe is such perfect normative deteminism for a winger.

Apparently United are fining Martial £180k in wages for going AWOL on the US tour. Guess that's probably it for him.

horrifying rumours about us signing Smalling this morning, local journo says no but this is the kind of thing that gives you sleepless nights pre-season

yeah lots of rumours about smalling to wolves, not really that bothered about seeing the back of him tbh. also rojo to everton, which i'd genuinely be sad about

I'd Rather Kecak (NickB), Wednesday, 1 August 2018 11:44 (seven years ago)

everton look terrible. enjoyed watching jagielka bounce off blackburn's prize beefboy dack in their friendly but that defence looks disgraceful

ogmor, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 11:50 (seven years ago)

Portugal in 7th?

Father Ted in Forkhandles (Tom D.), Wednesday, 1 August 2018 11:58 (seven years ago)

yeah lots of rumours about smalling to wolves, not really that bothered about seeing the back of him tbh. also rojo to everton, which i'd genuinely be sad about

This is backwards. In terms of our current line-up of defenders, Smalling is the only one who's consistently fit and relatively reliable. He's horrific on the ball but he's actually a decent defender

Rojo's had less than half a dozen good performances for Utd

Number None, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 12:03 (seven years ago)

re: Martial

He's apparently being fined for not reporting back to training in Carrington rather than rejoining the tour

Number None, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 12:05 (seven years ago)

everton look terrible

We also got murdered by Rennes. We may yet finish pre-season with -ve goal diff.

Michael Jones, Wednesday, 1 August 2018 12:06 (seven years ago)

we don't need a defender who's horrific on the ball as long as Danny Batth is still with us
