sick in summer

Seriously, if the temperature goes up and down you can get sick. Also, during hottest summer months places tend to use the A/C which means closed ventilation which means stale air, so you get more germs that way.

Being sick in the summer is awful. I feel dreadful and am at work but can't go home because it's y first day back after vacation. Wah!

I got food poisoning the week before my birthday (lost so much weight I had to make a new hole in my belt) and now, the following week, I have a really heavy cold. Good times. I sound like I have TB, so none of my friends will even come near me : (

And the weight is back on!

I spent the first week of a two-week vacation sick. When we left, I had a 102 fever. Two days later, the fever was gone, but I had a sore throat. Two days later, the sore throat was gone, but I had a scratchy throat. Two days later, the scratchy throat was gone, but I had pink eye. Finally, I went to an eye doctor where we were vacationing, and got heavy-duty prescription eye-drop antibiotics. That did the trick.

I feel like a sack of crap that's been repeatedly shotgunned. I think that the recent rains have woken up some plant that hates me and wants me dead. I stayed home from work today, mostly just laying in bed, suffering and filling a cup with phlegm,snot and saliva.

I'll probably go back to work tomorrow, though, since y'know, I have to.

Just coming to the end of a minor summer cold here. I did pick it up while on holiday in foreign climes though and managed to keep it at bay till I got home, so it wasn't all bad by any stretch.

Eurgh just getting over a stomach virus, was feeling horrible last night but went to see YMO and sweated the fever out into the rarified climes of the Royal Festival Hall. Which was nice for me, less nice for the people in the adjoining seats. Fever sweat does not smell pleasant I have to say.

Ugh being sick in the summer is the worst. Thankfully it's chilly here so it's not too bad but ARGH I feel like crap.

this is the worst. the worst! my vacation week, a fever of 103, and a new apartment sublet with gallons of white fucking cat hair.

exact same with me, woke up middle of the night with mouth all dry and sore throat and have a real foggy headcold today. it sucks. thankfully I was on a course tho keeping my eyes open was incredibly tough.

Most of the last ten days = wretched. Currently more at 'annoying but liveable' level.

I've been sick a full month. Probably allergies. If it turns out I'm allergic to cats I'll be thrown out of the house (can't compete with those adorable bastards). Good thing I don't have health insurance and will never know.

We (husband, I and oldest daughter) all seem to have this fucked up cold. Especially when we lie down, we end up coughing like mad. I stayed up till 1:30 am. Okay okay also because I kept playing Lexulous on my iphone.

I envy this guy.

First the sodding swine flu. Then, when that had started to clear, I caught my colleague's headcold. Now I've got a sore throat/coughing/achey cold. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Viruses of the world, just leave me alone.

I know my immune system must be shot, but honestly, this is just getting ridiculous.

I hate being sick in the summer, because for the first couple of days you don't realise that you're sick, you tend to attribute it instead to the weather being hot.

had a tickle in my throat before i went to bed last night. was awakened by loud flatmate sex at four, and found that not only could i not swallow, but my pillow was covered in insane amounts of muscusy saliva.

feel better than i did this morning, but fuck dude, i can't do this right now-- my checks clear and i get paid tomorrow! i was gonna rage. flark.

got an awful cold atm. whenever i get sick i worry that nature has finally designed the virus that will wipe out 90% of humanity and return normalcy to Earth. :(

sweet jesus i feel bad. crazy temperature means can barely sit up in bed, aches and pains all over, sinuses in agony. been in bed since getting in from work, really don't want to miss tomorrow as i've just started a freelance job but no way i can make it if i feel like this.

Don't think I'm quite as bad off as Ronan but this still sucks. Sick in summer is the worst. Bah!

yea i get crazy heat headaches :/. the worst is when the days go from hot to cool to hot to cool and your body can't get used to it, but well mother nature solved that problem with a heatwave

can buy like 10 minutes of breathing by taking cold/sinus pills but the caffeine and pseudoephedrine combo doesn't really help with the sleeping either

thanks for advice! have done the beer thing already but the rest sound like a good plan.

I find the Vicks gave me that ability to breathe I required when I couldn't blow my nose any better. My manager swears by warmed ..rye? Something like that; I was lazy and made a faux whisky sour. I boiled the ginger for 2-3 hours; it cuts like a knife but when you're sick you can't taste that sharpness so it's not too bad.
