I thought this was great. uncompromising, subtle and intelligent. Great performances, especially from Daniela Vega. It's a lovely thing.

I quite disliked it: its tone of special pleading, its sentimentality, its unoriginality. I want a movie with a trans character who's allowed to be a person, not a martyr.

But at the end she is a person, not a martyr: petting her dog, punching the punching bag on the way out the door, performing her solo.
