Bit early as the US lot are still a-kip. Bring this thread back up when they wake up. Someone must have watched the new ep of the second series. Any thoughts? (No spoilers, obv)

Alan (Alan), Friday, 1 November 2002 11:15 (twenty-two years ago)

dude, it was great, this guy got shot, and this girl got kidnapped, it was night time and they drank lots of coffee.

(not really! :)

jel -- (jel), Friday, 1 November 2002 11:17 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm not sure i can go through another 24 weeks of it...i didnt miss ONE episode of the first series tho if it hadnt been for those bbc2 and bbc choice marathon repeats at times i'd have never have made it

they pushed realism to the max last time (literally) so i figure this new series is going to be even more ludicrous ("wow i cant believe they kidnapped my daughter...again!") but enjoyable

i hope Milo is still in it...he seems to disappeared in Six Feet Under

blueski, Friday, 1 November 2002 11:50 (twenty-two years ago)

It has Sara Gilbert. Now I must watch all of the first series for the first time in order to be fully up to date, or I will be letting Sara down.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 1 November 2002 12:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Didn't Milo just disappear half way through 24 as well?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 1 November 2002 13:00 (twenty-two years ago)

milo hasn't been seen so far. it was ok though hardly great - v predictable so far and also even more unbelievable than last time. i have a feeling it's just about to get going, though.

most ridiculous thing = they have a middle eastern country suspected of terrorist involvement involved but they aren't naming it! it's all "get me the prime minister" and "prime minister, your country is blah blah blah".

i kinda hope it sucks in a way as otherwise i'll come home at xmas to a house with no tv having seen the first 8 episodes...

toby (tsg20), Friday, 1 November 2002 13:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I was expecting to read an ask-a-drunk-Xor who got lost :(

the Hegemon, Friday, 1 November 2002 13:27 (twenty-two years ago)

That'd be "Another 40?"

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 1 November 2002 15:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I wanna see which random Canadian band ends up on the show.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 1 November 2002 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)

four months pass...
It's fucking great so far. Bit freaked out by it being run from 8AM - 8AM rather than midnight - midnight - the day light stuff seems odd. Best episodes occur at night, if you ask me.

Any other comments?

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 20:53 (twenty-two years ago)

It's getting better. The turning point was around episode 10. Although the Kim subplot sucks royally...

Minky Starshine (Minky Starshine), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 20:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't tell us anything to do with plot!

The BBC is only up to episode three in the UK.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 20:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Episode 4 if you get BBC3

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 20:58 (twenty-two years ago)

So you don't know that Kiefer dies?

*Just kidding*

Apparently, it's the 5th highest rated show in the US so Fox have announced that there's gonna be a 3rd season. Wonder what the plot will be?

Minky Starshine (Minky Starshine), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 21:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Kiefer Sutherland plays an actor desparately trying to renegotiate his contract to guarantee even more money from a smash ratings success. His agent says he only has twenty-four hours to do so before the option expires and they replace him with Jason Patric -- and what's worse, a scandal is brewing that could ruin his career! In an innovative 'real time' editing move, we see Sutherland and a coterie of lackeys, hangers-on and publicity flacks engaged in a series of measures designed to expose the identity of whoever sold his entry in a Hollywood brothel of choice to the National Enquirer. Special guest stars Charlie Sheen, Brittany Murphy, Mickey Rooney and the Weinstein brothers play themselves; cameo appearance by Bruce Dern as 'Street Crazy Number Two.'

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 00:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Disregard what Ned just sed. Kim grows balls! And I'll do her anyway!

Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 07:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I consider it be of a very low quality. And the real-time thing is blown by not having any ads, isn't it?

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 10:10 (twenty-two years ago)

you mean the bbc version "jumps". not really. use your imagination, boy. it is HIGH quality FUN. (which you obv hate)

Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 10:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I've only seen 1 and 3 of this season and none of the last one, but I think it's incredibly dull and want it to be edited into a movie. I'll probably still watch though.

I got a news text message saying KS has been contracted for SIX more series.

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 10:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Disregard what Ned just sed.

Dammit.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 21:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Last night's episode made me cry and also made me afraid in real life in a way that I haven't been afraid since the Cold War 80s. I felt a bit silly but holy fuck....

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 22:15 (twenty-two years ago)

All Kim-baiting aside, it was quite beautiful and terrifying what happened.

Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 22:16 (twenty-two years ago)

That's a lie Graham; it's only been picked up for one more season after the current one.

Kim, despite seeming to grow balls, still needs to be arrested, blown up and eaten by a lion.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 22:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Only after I've had some quality time with her Dan.

Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 5 March 2003 22:32 (twenty-two years ago)

After all, she now has a matching pair of round things down there to match with her upper orbs that she flaunts so readily.

Leee (Leee), Thursday, 6 March 2003 03:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Tuesday's episode was great but when you've watched planes crash into NYC skyscrapers on TV what happened on 24 ain't much...
Still, good episode - can't wait for the rest of the season!

Minky Starshine (Minky Starshine), Thursday, 6 March 2003 03:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Last night's made me cry too. Saw the "surprise" coming for miles away though. Kim, please go away!

bnw (bnw), Thursday, 6 March 2003 03:48 (twenty-two years ago)

tonight's angel was great too(faith, alright!), it's almost like television doesn't suck.

keith (keithmcl), Thursday, 6 March 2003 04:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Three more weeks! Tuesday's episode was excellent, but we have to wait three more weeks for new episodes!

Vinnie (vprabhu), Thursday, 6 March 2003 18:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I finally got round to watching the new series, I think it was the fourth episode... Where on earth did the paranoid blonde rich girl with the might-be-terrorist brother in law come from? Why was Kiefer complicit in blowing up CTU? Why has George Mason got less than 24 hours to live? How has Tony Almeda managed to last this long despite being one of the most gormless individuals on television? These are questions I need answered!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Where on earth did the paranoid blonde rich girl with the might-be-terrorist brother in law come from?

She's a new character tied into the main storyline completely by coincidence. She ran a background check on her sister's fiance largely because she didn't like him and turned up something tied into the bomb plot.

Why was Kiefer complicit in blowing up CTU?

Jack was undercover with a splinter group that he thought could lead him to the bomb. Oops.

Why has George Mason got less than 24 hours to live?

In tracking down a lead to the bomb, George came across a site where the terrorists had been working on preparing the bomb. In the process of investigation, he was exposed to massive amounts of residual radiation and is now hosed.

How has Tony Almeda managed to last this long despite being one of the most gormless individuals on television?

I'm guessing that it's because da LADEEZ like da booty.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 14:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Nina is hot

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 15:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Agreed. But that evil thing she dabbles in is a turn off.

Leee (Leee), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 21:08 (twenty-two years ago)

she will be back for sure!

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 11 March 2003 21:53 (twenty-two years ago)

five months pass...
But she wasn't! Shocker!

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Monday, 11 August 2003 03:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm hoping the next series will be Jack lying in a hospital bed for 24 hours getting visitors - his daughter, Tony and his sidekick, the mountain lion...

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 11 August 2003 16:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Kim and the CTU catfight were the worst things about season 2.

bnw (bnw), Monday, 11 August 2003 16:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Season 3 will see a return to the core values of season 1 and feature lots and lots of evil lesbian sex.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 11 August 2003 16:32 (twenty-one years ago)

i didn't realize how annoying the kim subplot in the second series must have seemed until i saw the first season finally.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 11 August 2003 17:04 (twenty-one years ago)

i also really loathed both of the female ctu leads which made the catfight all the more annoying.

also, the "delicious ironing" of having tony be taken down the same way he tried to take jack down in the first season.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 11 August 2003 17:06 (twenty-one years ago)

The fact that the part of Michelle's character was blatently written for Nina Myers, only then the writers turned Nina bad at the end of the first season, and hastily rewrote the part for a different character...

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Monday, 11 August 2003 18:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Hence why Michelle goes around helping Jack and loving it up with Tony...

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Monday, 11 August 2003 18:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I was totally expecting a lesbian subplot between Michelle and The Harridan.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 11 August 2003 18:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Especially cos she was foine. (Carrie the not-Michelle.)

Leee (Leee), Monday, 11 August 2003 20:31 (twenty-one years ago)

nine years pass...
