Since this thread is revived, has anyone read/seen Robert Chesley's controversial AIDS-era play Jerker? Some research I'm working on at the moment led me to it, and while you win no points for how early you figure out the ending, I still found it packing quite the wallop. The character of a gay 'Nam vet contrasting his wartime experiences against the anti-gay movements of the 80s was especially brilliant.

Yeah, that happened maybe a mile and a half from my apartment. :(

So the new Broadway revival of The Boys in the Band with the all-gay (who cares?) all-star cast has, according to the NYT's unenthused review, cut most of the play's old-movie references! To appeal to millennials, no doubt. "Rosalind WHO?"

My relationship is now officially "open". A conversation with a friend made me realize that "open" was less about sex-need and more about an expression of each participants autonomy, independence, and trust of the other.

That's an interesting take. I've been in an open relationship for the past 33 years, so obviously it works for us, but I think that trust is of equal weight in either model. If you're monogamous, you trust them never to stray. If you're open, you trust them always to return.

He kept up the routine for 10 years before colleagues began to raise suspicions. After Spanish newspaper El Mundo broke the story 18 months ago, Mr Recio was finally sacked, despite his insistence that he had done nothing wrong.

Mr Recio was making a name for himself as a erotic comic book artist and creator of the popular character Fallarela, a busty superhero who hurls flaming Valencia oranges at her enemies

It also emerged Mr Recio had been running a male brothel out of his home since 2005. At one point he threatened to reveal the identities of his clients, warning there may have been cameras inside and the “graphic information” could compromise many politicians.
As part of his high-profile campaign to clear his name, Mr Recio even attempted to use a council venue for an art exhibition entitled, “Love for Valencia: the works of a man who never worked”, with four floors of works including paintings, sculptures and even a bronze bust of himself.
The City of Valencia cancelled the show, which described Mr Recio as “the most slandered writer in modern-day Valencia”, just before it was due to open after the council discovered he had booked the venue using a fake name.
