This does not have much in common with The Expanse or Altered Carbon, that is for sure. But it does have some strong casting in an important role.

there better be a cameo from the 1998 film's biggest breakout star, matt leblanc's jacket.

This was ok-ish but it got annoying after a while with all the characters needlessly hiding things from each other to create drama.

Very sad that the CGI space monkey from the ‘98 version declined to appear in in this.

heard good things about this and will inevitably watch it bc of parker posey's involvement

better than I expected -- strong cast, good effects well deployed, actual traces of science used to motivate some of the plot

the pace is a little slow sometimes ... the repeated episodes of kids/parents-in-peril are predictable, but what else are they going to do?

Parker Posey's Dr. Smith is complicated and scary, she does much more with the part than I expected

if I were a little kid, I think I might get more out of this than I would out of the last n iterations of Star Wars

I already love how literally everything anybody tries to do runs into a non-trivial obstacle. It's not like "oh shit the fire went out, who has chekhov's zippo?," it's "literally there are no wheels on the space buggy and we are teenagers fml," every time.

I also think mom robinson is a strong candidate to replace the archetypal hero in all canons going forward

also we're only halfway through episode 2

"something goes really really wrong" every episode got a bit annoying for me. Also I know I'm not meant to like Posey's Dr Smith but I kind of want to slap her.

my youngest is really into this, we're four episodes in now i think. getting kind of tired with the robot's acting tbh, seems a bit wooden

i'm surprised to see your screwface at the door (NickB), Wednesday, 25 April 2018 09:34 (six years ago) link
