restaurants are heavenly if you're in a booth.. or certain counters. otherwise they're pretty much hell

brimstead, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 14:51 (seven years ago)

yeah, the booth is key.

scott seward, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 14:56 (seven years ago)

i more or less always feel uncomfortable in restaurants but on the other hand i like food so

the vomming of the snark (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 14:58 (seven years ago)

there is a breakfast spot i love to go to in town that all the locals go to - its usually filled with cops in the morning - and i love it there. i'm so comfortable. great booths and always tons of room to breathe. also, i never ever see anyone i know there. i like the anonymity.

scott seward, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 15:02 (seven years ago)

are taxi rides supposed to be enjoyable? i guess not. and they're not

brand new universal harvester (dog latin), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 15:05 (seven years ago)

i liked taxi rides when the drivers would let me smoke

brimstead, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 15:06 (seven years ago)

i'll bet horse-drawn carriage rides aren't as enjoyable as they should be. just a hunch.

scott seward, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 15:09 (seven years ago)

omg smoking is a big one. i finally quit, but when I did smoke, I only enjoyed maybe one out of give cigs and the rest were just feeding a habit while grossing myself (and others) out

thots and players (rip van wanko), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 15:10 (seven years ago)

also, for me personally: owning a dog.

camping/beach/outdoors are so completely relaxing to me but the key is to do them alone imo?

yeah someone listed hiking I think and I wanted to ask if they've ever done it alone. any time I do hike with other people it seems to go antithetical to the whole point of it. I still enjoy hiking with others tho!

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 16:51 (seven years ago)

baths. bonus point for “reading in the bath”.

Fizzles, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 17:27 (seven years ago)

baths are *very very* occasionally enjoyable. after a cripplingly long walk eg.

Fizzles, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 17:28 (seven years ago)

always felt like there was a gender divide with baths. but my evidence is anecdotal at best. we should do a poll.

scott seward, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 17:32 (seven years ago)

could just be a size or length thing though. if you don't fit in a bathtub you probably aren't going to enjoy a bath that much.

breakfast in bed

thots and players (rip van wanko), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 17:47 (seven years ago)

practical jokes are the sign of a miserable person.

breakfast in bed also a good call. crumbs. can’t really perch up properly. can’t balance need to drink tea and do forceful things like tear bacon, eating cereal in bed reminds you of hospital and dying. also need a downtown abbey tray with legs (this prob has a name) and a maid prob.

Fizzles, Wednesday, 2 May 2018 17:54 (seven years ago)

Baths otm, it took me awhile to realise how little I enjoyed them - I think I resisted their fundamental unenjoyability cause it seemed like something that was meant to be luxuriant

type your stinkin prose off me, ur damned qwerty uiop (wins), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 17:55 (seven years ago)

xp. you tear bacon with your hands?

breakfast in bed is fine if you have the aforementioned tray, versions of which can be purchased at ikea for very cheap. i more enjoy making someone breakfast in bed than having it myself tho tbh

thots and players (rip van wanko), Wednesday, 2 May 2018 18:59 (seven years ago)

for example some of my friends consider driving a rental car one of life's small pleasures, so I asked myself if I agree, and I do, rental cars are great because a) they're generally cleaner than my own car, b) I get to experience driving a different make and model of car than what I'm used to, plus it's almost certainly newer, and c) I get to thrash it if I want to
