Second viewing of First Reformed really opened it up for me

YWNRH easily my least fave of the year so far lol

I missed out on seeing it because my friend thought it looked too violent - I liked we need to talk about Kevin more than most it seems but didn’t love it and it is one of the films that parts of hereditary casually outdoes

First reformed not out here yet (a month to go I think), can’t wait

The ending of First Reformed is a cop-out, but for Schrader it's nuttin' new.

I was the only one in the theater who burst into laughter when Toller meticulously puts on a certain painful hair shirt.

On this viewing I clocked that Seyfried's husband is my age :/

i didn't find it a copout! also prefer levitation to minister sex.

The local film festival(s?) are mostly retrospective, and I'm trying to wean myself off some addictions with no high-speed internet, so I've missed quite a few of this year. Eager to see Shoplifters and Free Solo.

Also, plan on using Noodle Vague's "bacon cult" in everyday speech.

I mostly just watched trash this year: Mandy, Annihilation, Avengers, Crazy Rich Asians, most of Black Panther. I guess Mandy was my favourite.

I watched about an hour of Zama yesterday before giving up. A bit too dry for my tastes, definitely Not My Thing tbh.
