Inspired by thinking about the word “gamer” in the context of a conversation on I Love Games:

Do you have an activity/hobby/pastime that is central to your core identity? What is it? How did you come to the conclusion that your identity was inextricable intertwined with this activity?

I am less talking about incontrovertible physical attributes that are impossible to change like ethnicity and more about things you actively choose to make up your identity and presentation to the world,

i baulk at describing myself as an artist, i'm not a confident painter, but if it weren't an awkward sounding and unused word that made me sound like part of an item of furniture i would describe myself as a drawer.

I was thinking about this same thing re: the discussion in the other thread. I probably play enough games that I could reasonably refer to myself as a gamer, but I don't, and I wouldn't. I shower fairly frequently and I think I'm pretty good at it. Maybe I've been a showerer this whole time without realizing.
