watched it again recently and it's a v fun romp yeah but gremlins 2 is a high bar to clear imo, particularly now that daniel clamp is president of the usa

Dante is an under-heralded king of '80s pop cinema. I should get around to that unwatched copy of Piranha someday.

In re: poll question, probably preferable to be trapped in Short. The sheer amount of bile inside of Raygun would've made his corpus uninhabitable.

A long time ago--back in the days of what we call the vaud-e-ville--Martin Short was quite funny.

I wasn't sure for a while if he was funny but then he made a wacky face and crossed his eyes and I figured it out.

I am picturing this scenario as if you wake up one morning very uncomfortable from head to toe and you get up and look in the mirror and realize that it's because the flesh of another man is now tightly stretched over your own. Or, I guess in Reagan's case, loosely draped over your own.

Having never been trapped inside another person, I am unclear on the rules that would apply. Do I get to evict the previous occupant and their body becomes my own, while I retain my present memories, knowledge, opinions, etc? Would I have to inhabit Reagan's dead body and live in his grave?

When do you get to be trapped in the body?

Everybody seems to be assuming it's an old president-type Reagan and a middle-aged Short at his peak of fame (maybe circa Three Amigos?).

Reagan had a pretty dreary midwestern childhood but he was rich and famous and well-liked for most of his adult life. He married twice, to reasonably good-looking actresses. He served in the military but was not deployed overseas. Plenty of periods of his life would have been pleasant to inhabit.

Ditto Short - he's kind of hard to watch nowadays but if you caught him at the right moment it could be fun being him.

why use the official biographer bullet points and not the salacious tabloid fodder when trying to make a determination?

like you get to be popular and liked, but you have to live through his eyes as he coerces actresses into sexual acts and gets the SAG to put a "I'm not a commie" clause into their contract during the McCarthy era

you don't have to live through his eyes, you just have to be in a tiny submarine that attaches electrodes to his eyes.

You get to give Reagan a stabbing pain in the back of the eye, if my memory of the film is correct.

Also you get to electrocute his facial muscles to make him look like someone else.
