Way back during the first Clinton administration, Gore went on Letterman to talk about the "reinventing government" initiative, and he was pretty funny. But of course I'm sure he was coached and otherwise prepared.

yeah forbes and gore are similar, part of the in crowd even though they are nerds just because they had famous fathers.

Gore can be sly. His handlers are famous for constantly insisting that he is really hilarious and loose in person; the thing is, I think it's TRUE - but something happens when he steps behind the podium, he turns into the preacher from the Simpsons.

Politicians on SNL are always dud. I caught a few minutes of McCain on SNL and it was dreadful (of course SNL is dreadful right now anyway). Forbes was pretty cringe-worthy as well.

And there's really nothing he could do that would be funnier than the beard so why is he trying?
