I'm lazy, plus I've managed to keep a low enough profile here, that I've mostly avoided any long-term grudges.

I take a lot of pleasure in randomly swooping into threads just to post an obnoxious comment that only I find humorous.

I look forward to the 77 albums countdown each year because it largely shapes what I listen to for the next 12 months.

I've taken much pleasure in the growing acceptance, and outright celebration of Rush and Steely Dan when they were objects of derision for most of my life. I imagine I may be waiting a long time for the Frank Zappa rehabilitation though....

Mainly I like reading the general opinions on movies and the basketball chat.

Also the album / single music countdown polls influence a good chunk of what I listen to for the next year since I feel like I don't have the time to sift through a lot of new music myself these days.

Finding something you love then listening through the ballots of those who voted for it is p much my favourite way to Spotify.

The extent to which I feel like I fit in with most social groups usually maxes out at like 4%, but wrt ILX it's gotta be at least, what, 8 or 9%? You don't just throw that away.

i no longer have the inclination or time to chase down all the new music, but i still learn things all the time here. just the other day an ancient bumped thread made me aware of 'this beat goes on/switchin' to glide', and recently katherine mentioned teresa winter. also learn a lot from the books threads
